Can anyone provide steps on what they do when this happens on their network?
-
rschroeder, Thank you for the info but this was already done. I double checked it and went through the motions of logging out and in just to see and there is still no option. I checked all the other menu bars for this option and it just isn't there. Does this have to do with the evaluation package? Then again how can I…

johnsja, Thank you for the link but have you tried to follow these steps? I still can't find or add Performance Analysis to the menu bar. Would you be able to provide a more detailed approach with pictures? I went into my user account, I clicked on My Dashboards and configure but nowhere can I find Performance Analysis. I…

Thank you for responding. Here is my picture down below. This is what I have in my syslog. I have only 1 server 2016, 1 cisco switch, and 1 end device or PC. Very small lab but why no logs? I made sure in Services that Solarwinds Syslog was running.

Hi d09h, There were 2 OIDs i assigned and all of them seem to bring back results for all EIGRP instances. I take it that I need to just modify a custom table to only show the ones I want. I do have another question though. One of the tables came up with this results: I created a Universal device poller to monitor EIGRP and…

Hi mandevil, Thank you for the insight. I am more a network guy but fairly new to Solarwinds. I work for a company that already had Solarwinds implemented before I arrived. When I log into the web console I can see that DPA is in the ribbon so it must already be installed? How do I go about trying to use it? Is it a…

I was informed that this depends on Cisco.

Hi bkyle, Thank you for the link but I have already seen the demo. I wanted to know if anyone has already used or is using NTM and if they know for a fact that this is my solution to what I'm looking for. I am trying to find the answers before attempting the trial since it'll take time for me to get approvals and what not.

so.hemanth, How do I enable? I am currently working with a small lab that includes 1 cisco switch, 1 PC, and 1 Server 2016.

Derik, I am very new to Solarwinds. I have not set up any forwarding to my syslog server. How would I go about doing that? Do I first need to create traps?
-
Thank you Rick, I'll keep this thread updated as I troubleshoot per your advice.
-
Thank you mesverrum. I'll look over the instructions and give it a shot.
-
I'll give this a try. Thank you nathatnwilson.

mesverrum, The user account option was what I was looking for. Thank you for your assistance!

hi rharland2012, In the edit node section for the polling method, i did what you stated but it still doesn't work. I input the credentials and click "test" and it fails. COMPUTERNAME\username password Doesn't work for both users. One is admin and the other is a regular account. For "Credential Name" I tried…

Hi mesverrum, Thank you for the prompt response. I found the Retention period in settings. I also pressed the "CALCULATE" button and it displayed my current size as 3.2 GB. So if I change my retention period to 90 days, will my current size be increased to 9.6 GB (3.2 * 3 = 9.6)? In regards to performance, will my web…

Does it matter which server I update first regarding the .NET Framework?
-
I'll give this a shot and see how it goes. Thank you.
-
I discussed it with Technical support and it seems that I should be using the 2nd option in EOL and inputting the info manually for the ones that seemed bugged. Thanks rschroeder.

I'm looking for more than "self explanatory." How would I configure the Network Discovery tool? Where would I go? How do I check if I do have devices configured? Please be specific with pictures if possible; I'm more of a visual learner. Thank you.
-
hi d09h, Thank you for the reply. I am working on an existing network and didn't get to do anything with Network Sonar Discovery jobs. Please navigate me there and inform me exactly what I am looking for. Where is the path for this? I looked in settings\all settings and could not find any link to Network Sonar Discovery

I'll give this a shot David and see what I can do. Thank you.

Vinay and David, Thank you for the responses. These are the applications/modules I currently have: NPM 12.0.1 VNQM 4.2.4 SAM 6.2.4 DPA 10.0.1 NCM 7.5 IVIM 2.1.2 QoE 2.2.0 NetPath 1.0.1 NTA 4.2.0 The Server 2016s will be brand new VMs. The Database 2016 will also be brand new (VM as well I believe). The install of…

Thank you for the info Vinay. What would be the best practice once I have my 2016 server up and running? Or should I say what are the next steps after that? Would it be to install the latest version of Solarwinds? All these questions are to be sure I have a smooth transition and hopefully this will help others.

Thank you derik, I will give this a shot beginning with stalling the web console.
-
Thank you both for the feedback. mthughes, How did you make that so-called "simple UnDP table?" That is definitely the direction I am looking for my Home Summary page. Did you do a poller for each router or 1 poller for the 3? I setup 1 UnDP for all the routers that have BGP and applied a chart to the "Node Details…

Hi wluther, Thank you for the response. I have seen this job which is currently enabled and has a retention period of 30 days, but this doesn't resolve my issue. I think this job is on the web console and related to: Configs\Configuration Management When I expand any node, my configs for the past 30 days show up. In my…

Hi melmstedt, Thank you for the info and references. I'm already on NPM 12.x but I guess after installing a new OS I would need to reinstall the NPM. In regards to backups, besides the databases and snapshots of VMs, is there anything else I should backup? I figure I would also need to backup my logs but which folder would…

cahunt, I like your idea but how do I accomplish this if Node A is connecting to a cloud (in this case, B) and Connection 1 is BGP? Right now I can only add nodes to the map but how do I incorporate BGP?
-
That is not what I had in mind but if it answers my questions it'll do. Do you mind walking me step by step on how you accomplished this? Can this be placed in a NOC view to cycle between other connections I want to setup in a similar manner?
