Issue has been resolved. I had to work with my Security team. Seems that some things were being blocked and after unblocking and making necessary exceptions everything worked.

I found out that to be more accurate, you want to schedule a Show Run All job daily and apply that to the compliance checker. The compliance checker uses the latest configs you assign it to so if your Show Run All is done on a weekly basis then the compliance checker will only be accurate the day after the backup but on a…

Upgrade was successful. I did need to upgrade .NET Framework to 4.6.2. The installer package had the framework included but I did it manually without the installer's help then proceeded with the installer. During the system check within the installer there were some recommendations which I also followed so I exited the…

I spoke with my DBA (Database Admin) and he stated that it would be best if the application (Solarwinds) purged the data so I am still not sure what will happen if data is purged on his end. However, I did find out how to purge data from the Solarwinds end specifically for the dbo.syslog table. 1) In your web console go to…

I believe I found the answers. Web toolset would be installed from the Server Orion is on since you'll need to login as Admin. As for after installation, users will need to be assigned a license seat in order to use the toolset and they should have access anywhere they login to the web console thereafter.

I found the answers. In "My Dashboards/Configs/Configuration Management," the Inventory Status tab may show a history of manual jobs that may have been performed previously. To do a manual inventory job go into the Config Management tab, click the checkbox of the node, and click "update inventory" (circled in red down…

Answer: Start off with about 50GB of storage since this can easily be changed when dealing with VMs. 20GB is the initial storage but the additional GB of storage will be needed for your 1000 flows/s. There is no exact answer how much flows all your devices will have but there will be a better understanding once it's up and…

Figured it out. The steps for the SQL Server Express that I did were: 1.Open the Database Manager. 2.Click Add default server. 3.Locate and right-click your SolarWinds Orion database. 4.Select "New query..." 5.Execute the following query in the blank white area: UPDATE dbo.Settings SET CurrentValue = 1 WHERE SettingID LIKE…

Wanted to add to my questions. Why wouldn't I right-click my Solarwinds Orion database and select "New query..." then execute the script there? Why would I need to right-click and run the script in an existing table where I would need to erase the existing script and then execute another script within that table?

Figured out how to create a custom page and add to my menu. All I need to figure out now is how to monitor the flow in and out for my VM. Anyone?

Before removing a node, you may want to backup the configs to another destination. Location of the configs are located on your server in this location: C:\ProgramData\Solarwinds\NCM\Config-Archive Now you remove the node in your web console. Go to your menu bar: 1) Settings 2) All Settings 3) In the next page click "Manage…

Thank you for the feedback. Looks like I do have configs in this location on the server. How often do you guys manually purge the older configs for every device? I guess that would depend on the department but I'm just trying to get an idea on what others do.

Will the cert have any impact on anything else? Say for instance, setting up to be able to login automatically to the web console from windows? I just want to make sure that this cert has no other impact other than what both of you mentioned above. Thank you in advance.

Figured it out. You need to choose the "Get Table" in your UnDP in the "Show Advanced Options" in the "SNMP Get Type" section.
