Further up in the discussion there is a comment about page 5 of the document vs page 5 of the PDF. One of the pages specifically references the correct answer.

Has anyone else noticed general slowness after the upgrade? Programs seemed to open and run faster on 8.1 than they do on 10. Maybe its just the hardware. I notice it most on my home system.

Oh no......not again!

100% in house here. 17 locations so we use one of them for DR. No need for a cloud solution. Doesn't keep vendors from trying to sell it to us though.

Contrats on the card. I haven't won one yet but I'm 17 for 17 on the answers and I'm wondering who my competition is for the plane tickets.

We tried autoconfiguration with CenturyLink and they ended up leaving it at default... 5 - 95 I think it was.

Nice...I wonder if Leon Adato is going to find your GIRDING reference...

(bonus points to who can tell me where that name was derived from) There are 2 different opinions about the origin of buttset. One opinion is that it gives the lineman the ability to "butt in" to any conversation. The other opinion relates to where it hangs on the linemans tool belt. I don't know how serious you were about…

I don't think most users understand that if it's on the internet you have no expectation of privacy. In addition, companies are fighting a losing battle when it comes to security. Users with the same password on home and business devices are a single step away from compromising both.…

I believe being proactive is key. If you are reactive, then you are already behind the eightball and it is going to be tougher to get your head above water when dealing with issues that are coming up. In addition there will be more of the same issues coming up because reactivity doesn't take into accout correcting the…

I figured as much. I had already cut and pasted the text to be shared. No worries there. maria.bungau

Good post. Loved the "Princess Bride" reference too. Three cheers for clarity and defining of terms.

I find that even with the bigger vendors QoS is not a strongsuit for most pre-sales guys and even a lot of the techs aren't very competent with it. You have to find someone who specializes and then dig in to find out what your and their systems require. Often they will say something like "go 40-20-20-20" and then won't…

Last week, I knew the Friday answer they wanted but I reeeeeally wanted to pick the snarky answer. So I did. It cost me a few points and a chance for a prize. It is what it is.

SWEET! I'll be pumpin up the jams. Or maybe that would be pumpkin up the jams.... Thank you to the one pulling the name from that hat.

We recently brought our website in-house and it was amazing how much faster things got. I believe we eliminated competition for bandwidth by bringing it back. Internally we haven't really had a slowness issue with Intranet. We do find that flash and other bandwidth hogs do slow our remote desktop services down especially…

I do not think that word means what you think it means....

Ummm.....correlation does not imply causation? Still pretty awsome! At the very least I would put it on the cork board and post it at the water cooler. SNL - It's the Leon-meister, pumpin up the stock price. Leon-arino....

Hehe...might have to take away his dolls and pins before he hurts somebody.

Thanks for the feedback Richard Letts. I didn't mean to imply that I wanted traceroute specifically as a tool to use for paths. I was merely using it as a flow concept.

Hehe....kinda like perl scripting

It shows as a timeline graph in Orion so it is enabled. The checkboxes for the gauge were ALL grayed out when I originally configured the alert. Many of the Chart and Table options are gray as well in the Poller configuration.

I seached on Hotfix 4 and found a long thread that kinda gave me shudders. HotFix 4 for Orion is out now Apparently I'm not the first to struggle with 11.5. I did put in a support ticket and I'll keep this thread updated.

I had found that article in my search prior to posting my question (thank you for posting it). It didn't seem to hold any pertinent information for my issue.

Are you running SNMP on the Cisco switches? and the I found that if the monitoring is ICMP only that the connections don't get made in Network Atlas.

I would probably frequent a Group like that on a regular basis.
