  •  If this can't be done this is going to cause us all sorts of problems as we're looking at moving our 6509 Chassis over to VSS later this year, which will basically give us the same result as a 3750 stack.
  • Thanks John, just implemented your doc and it works a treat.
  • I second the CS1K support.
  •  The template was on auto but I've now changed it to Fortigate. I'm seeing the issues with both auto and manual download. This is the details from the trace. • Thanks, this worked a treat.
  • What about setting the default number displayed, can this be changed to show all? Thanks
  • It would just be nice to be able to get things like the Backpack outside the USA.
  • One of the servers in question is the NPM server so hopefully should have access whatever, but I've also checked some of the other servers that fail and community strings etc are configured correctly with the correct authroisation for the NPM server.
  • Steve I run scheduled multiple jobs daily including iventory update and config backups without having Cirrus open it uses Microsoft scheduler to run jobs and reports without having Cirrus open. HTH Jon IT Infrastructure Manager Pilgrim Hospital UK
  • That worked great. Will there be a future feature that will allow AD passthrough so I don't have to worry about changing the account login type and clicking login? Thanks
  • That worked a treat thanks. Yann, do the device templates get reset to default when a new version's installed? Thanks Jon
  • Hi Yann The issues with the Fortigate's is that there is a global config which is downloaded through NCM fine but each VDOM has a separate config. Within the Fortigate's web frontend you can do a download of the config but its useless for looking at. You can get a config for each VDOM by going into each VDOM and doing a…
  • Thanks for the info, I haven't toalk to support yet but just looked this morning and processor 8 is running at 85% while all the other 7 processors are running between 0 and 5% which is crazy. Do you know how I can move specific threads to specific processors to try and even the load up, it porbably doesn't help that…
  • We are currently looking at SMS messaging for alerts and originally were going to use a SMS modem with a 3rd party piece of software to forward over SMS but have decided to go down the route of using a internet based SMS service, I've trialed a number but up to now Kapow is our prefered as during testing from the point the…
  • Logged Case #128755
  • Here's the value for system up time, which would be correct as the switch restarted at 07:20 yesterday morning. 1.3.6.1.2.1.1.3.0 The time (in hundredths of a second) since the network management portion of the system was last re-initialized. 1 days, 1 hours, 23 minutes, 13 seconds
  • Mark Will this funtion be automated as it would save us to have to remeber to purge one in a while? Thanks Jon
  • Thanks for the link, I have already installed the Exchange tool but need something that can give me historical data as well as live.
  • There's also a script in the content zone that works really well.
  • Call logged Case # 257267
  • When we upgraded to NPM 11.0 the issues was resolved.
  • Congo, do you use any specifc software to do the rotation or something that comes with Windows? Thanks
  • We used to only monitor uplink interfaces on our switches but have recently added all access interfaces as we wanted to find out about interface VLAN's and also we've built a report that displays all down interfaces and how long they've been down for so if an interface is patched which they readily are then rather than…
  • Checked the event viewer and seen the following errors, anyone got an idea what could be causing it. When I start them manually they start fine. NetPerfMon Service Error: Engine Initialization Error: Detailed Error: Cannot connect to NetPerfMon database Provider=SQLOLEDB.1;User ID='SolarWindsNPM';Password='orion';Persist…
  • Just like any other poller, some people do this, but we recommend against it because it doesn't perform to our expectations. Will this be improved in the future to support using over the WAN?
  • Matt Thanks for the info. Currently we have two organistaions that access a shared NPM infrastruture but only one of these has there infrastruture in NCM and NPM. One concern I have is that if we fully integrate NCM and NPM all the other organisations NPM infrastruture will automatically sync with NCM and they will then…
  • I've done a repair of Orion and so far so good not a break all day. I'll let you know on Monday if it continues or goes back. Jon
  • I've tried what you've suggested but it still complains that closing down will stop all polling and it still doesn't give me the option of which polling engine to open. When I open NPM again it goes throught the same sequence build the network model etc. Jon
  • It makes sense but I still don't know why the response time should be so different for the devices as I haven't setup any user experience monitors at the moment its just what monitors were picked up while adding the devices? Jon
