  • Thanks, I'll create an interface custom property for the interfaces I don't want to delete, how do I add this check to the existing SQL script? Thanks Jon
  • This is possible but you will need some piece of information in the database that will allow you to uniquely identify the trunk ports on the switches from the other ports you don't want to monitor. Using FastEthernet ports only as the criteria will work as long as all of your trunk ports are FastEthernet and none of the…
  • What I don't get is if Toolsets was being actively developed they'd be more up front about the roadmap, all the other Solarwinds products once there's been a new release, the what were working on next is usually updated within weeks. I personally think they can't make up their minds as Toolsets crosses over a number of…
  • It would be great if the pollers were re-written to enable multi-threading, we've just moved our Orion installation to a 4 core blade server and at the moment we're only hammering a single cpu as other apps and processes are single threaded and this at times can impact the poller. Thanks Jon
  • Jiri If I want to revert it back to the default config so UnPluggable = Down, what do I need to change in the script above to make the change? Thanks Jon
  • That worked a treat thanks, could I replace the UnPluggable with any of the Interface options for instance Interface Status Polling and that would allow me to change the polling interval for all Access Node types?
  •  Kenny What version of Orion are you using as I don't have the has changed as an option on my advanced alerts setup? Thanks Jon
  • I've recently moved Cirrus onto the same box as Orion and personally can't see any point of having monitoring on Cirrus is only open when I'm using it and I will soon get an alert from Orion if I loose a switch. I don't see any pros when you also have Orion whether on the same box or not, but pros to turning it off is that…
  • Chris Will do, could you send me over the link to the upload site as the file will probably be quite big as its on the same server as NPM. Thanks Jon
  • I've never had a problem with the scripts and have done automated firmware upgrades to 100 + switches before.
  • Tried opening the URL but it just displays the content of the xml file in both Firefox and IE8. I opened the workspace again and it seems to of worked this time round its immediately told me of the update with the WMI widget. Jon
  • v6 of Scrutinizer is at beta 3 and looks a good improvement over 5.5, we tried it while we were finalising the config on our new 6500's. Haven't got a complant with the product and managed to get it integrated with Orion OK.

  • Thanks everyone I've found it now. Jon
  • I'm refering to the time it takes Cirrus to be usable from the time the switch list show on the left hand side.
  • I've re-added the Custom poller in a zip file so it should be OK.
  • Works a treat, thanks. Inventory works but doesn't pull back a lot, it's makes me chuckle that The hardware vendor and machine type are still showing as Black Storm Networks and that Cisco haven't changed it yet.
  •  We're manageing 175 devices throught this instance of NCM.
  • Roger Looked into it but too expensive for the capacity required. Why can't Solarwinds produce a performance guide for SQL to get the best out of there products, we're not all in the fortunate position of having DB teams to manage our deployments and I for one put SQL in and don't touch it once installed. Thanks Jon
  • It will only collect stats every 20 minutes. I'm waiting for new hardware when I'll probably drop it down to 10 or 15 minutes. Another option if you don't want to change your main polling and stats frequency is to change your volume frequency ours is set to 10 minutes for polling and 60 minutes for stats collection. Also…
  • I've just tried doing what you've suggested and logged into the recorder box with a local admin account non domain but now it throws the access denied error as above before it logs in but going to the same URL in a browser it logs in fine and works. So I'm assuming its some sort of wierd issue with the recorder.
  • You may be able to use local machine accounts instead of domain accounts but why isn't EOC using the same security model as NPM where you can create a local account within NPM? We have a generic account setup in NPM for our on call people and I would like to create a generic account in EOC by the same method and not using…
  • I'm currently running 8.1 will it work with my version and if so how can I get it to work? Thanks
  • Thanks Matt, that worked.
  • Simple answer you can't it will only display in the UnDP status box with all your other UnDP. I wanted to add mine to some custom properties that had our Cisco TAC contacts etc but was told I couldn't. Its a pain as you have to try and find the serial number from amongst other UnDP's and some of our devices have fup to 10…
  •  Andy To me that seems crazy, we've are currently monitoring 13,000 elements so require the SLX version of Orion but only have 5 Cisco 6509 Chassis (Our WAN is switched using 3750's) that can run Netflow so 3.8% of our monitored elements are actually spitting out Netflow and this is never likely to increase. A Solarwinds…
  • I've setup the poller as specified above, as your using this for your 3750's I thought I would see if it would work with our 2960's when I do the test from browse MIB tree it returns a value. But when I assign the same switch I did the test on and test it it fails with no value returned and in NPM it says no value…
  • I agree, while its the 3rd line engineers who have Engineers on the desktop allowing our 2nd line team access to a similar range of tools from the web interface all be it only 5 at the moment would improve things imensely for them and would allow them to do this type of support without asking the 3rd line team. I got a…
  •  I moved the DB fine and tested under v9, which worked fine. Then upgraded to 9.1 and everything worked. Thanks to everyone for there input.
  • I've always had to recreate the view on the second NPM as I couldn't find a way of moving them between servers. It would be could if this could be added as a feature request.
  • Thanks Pacetti, there will be no need to remove any devices as these will be totally new DB's.
