The real story is that Chekov was aboard the Enterprise, but not yet promoted to bridge duty. While Khan was aboard he needed to use the head, but was kept waiting by Chekov, so that when the ensign finally left the head Khan swore vengeance on the unfortunate Pavel.

For the benefit of continued improvement would it be possible to update the page with the correct answers highlighted? I don't always understand what I didn't understand, so it would really help if I could go back after the mission is over to see what should have been the correct answers. Merci d'avance!

Strange spelling appears In previous day's question It is spelled "center"

I have it, it's going to be "what's the best format of punctuation?" You know, a genuine battle of brackets!
-
There's always that question you don't want to have to ask, but you know you're going to have to ask, whether you're asking a person or rhetorically asking your computer. "What are you doing?" Sometimes with a couple extra words between "What" and "are" for emphasis.

For the November 14th question the video does not match the associated verbal instructions. The "Ticket Details" tab is clearly highlighted, yet the instructions read out by the voice state "click on the Asset Info" tab.

And yet there are companies that insist they know what's good for us.

Ah yes, when phones came in any colour you wanted, as long as it was black, and the handset was solid enough to use for a hammer.

Hello, You will find the page of SAM Integrations here: https://www.solarwinds.com/server-application-monitor/supported-vendors Regards, Joe

Which tools do you have? That would help us help you. Other tools have WMI access.

Users can easily overload a DB with poorly-written queries, by running them too often, or by not exiting properly and leaving connections open until there are none left. Using the API also ensures the user can only access the data you want them to see, rather than relying on the DB team to set the necessary limits. You…

We are also still having the problem. I've found that, if using IE, you can kill the one IE process that is using excessive CPU and it will restart the window and not require a complete shut down of your browser. If you use Firefox I don't know if you can do this.

I'll find out once our local security authority can generate an approved certificate. We're not allow to self-generate here. And I've learned in parallel the log file is here: C:\ProgramData\Solarwinds\Logs\Orion\ActionsExecutionReport.log My thanks to all who helped me. I'll update this thread once I have our…

What majames84 is going against the users of Solarwinds or any other monitoring system that allows open-ended monitoring pauses/halts/mutes. Human beings can be lazy, or overwhelmed, or undereducated, and want to shut off alarms as quickly and simply as possible in the heat of the moment and will not always go back to…

neomatrix may have hit on it. I already know the share works because I can write to it for other purposes. However, I'm not certain about the cert, so I will check the self-signed certificate for IIS on our NPM server. Joe Poutre BNP Paribas

I know it has been many years since this post, and I am hoping there has been progress on the MIBs for ADVAs? We have them here, and our Solarwinds NPM 12.3, with nearly the newest MIB.cfg file, does not see the traffic rate for any of the interfaces. We are going to reach out to ADVA as well. Regards, JoeP

While reviewing the release notes for NPM 12.0.1 I found this line among the fixes for Orion Platform 2016.2 1045304, 1015785 The Orion Web Console does not hang when managing alerts or alert maintenance. I am therefore going to download and upgrade our dev system to 12.0.1 with associated updates. If this helps I'll do…

Hello, I can't speak to that older version. I recommend you try setting up the Alert. In case you monitor a significant portion of your servers by ping, you might also want to add a check in the Trigger so that it only checks servers and devices monitored by SNMP. Joe Poutre BNP Paribas

I am having the same problem. I have tried flushing the cache, logging out and back in, and rebooting my desktop. I also restarted Solarwinds itself. I see the CPU on my desktop spiking. This happens with both IE 11 and Firefox. (We don't have Chrome.) Joe Poutre BNP Paribas

Or the Spanish Inquisition, because... well, you all know.

I have changed the name of our server and the actual userid to protect the innocent. I did test the credentials and they worked. I confirmed that the Network Share is shared by the remote host, and that the user name has the rights to mount and write to the share. Joe Poutre, BNP Paribas

Thank you for clarifying that for me. That will help me with our configurations.

I know this is 6 years later, but we have this requirement too, and the Trap Viewer hasn't changed. We need to throttle traps, but based on the device name, so that if we have two devices send the same type of trap, we don't accidently mask the traps from the second device by throttling due to a flood of traps from the…

Hello, In which document was the information? We, too, need to update the SNMP trap template to forward alarms to another system. Merci d'avance, Joe Poutre BNP Paribas

Hello, What version of NPM are you running? We have 12.0.1 and I have a Warning alert set up for those devices that are not responding to SNMP polling. The Trigger Condition is on a Node, where Node Status is equal to Up, and Overall Hardware Status Status is equal to Could Not Poll. Regards, Joe Poutre BNP Paribas

The information in the link to the KnowledgeBase as provided by Richard Letts has helped, except the emails still have port 80 instead of port 443. Regards, Joe Poutre BNP Paribas

We've received the same error, but rerunning the Configuration Wizard does not seem to help. Do you recall what specific settings you set on the page where you clear the ASP.NET files and decide between HTTP and HTTPS? We have opened an issue with Solarwinds support; I'm following up here on thwack in parallel. Regards,…

We need this too. I discovered several devices were no longer responding to SNMP only because those devices are still in our old Spectrum monitoring system, which generated alarms. Solarwinds did not show any problem.
