Sorry for the delay. As usual things got in the way. I've been all through Network Atlas and never found a screen that looks like the one above. I would email you directly but I'm not sure how.
-
What version of Network Atlas is needed to use Variable Object Display - Tool Tips? We have 1.10.1.29 and I don't see any way to set it up.
-
Add me to the list. Completed survey and answerd "Done" but no joy.

You are supposed to be able to change link color based on traffic in NPM 10.7. I got it to work but we have a bunch of redundant links where 100% of the traffic is on one or the other. This feature was showing both redundant links with the same utilization. I played with it a bit but other things came and I left it alone…
-
Finally got Security Q1, only after a very spirited discussion among the NOC boyz. Five heads are better than one.
-
You should be able to just add the poller and divide by ten. {poller}/10
-
I have also been warned that suppression can be very tricky. I stay away from it. Keep in mind that the Test button only tests the trigger or reset action that you defined (email, logging, whatever). It doesn't test the logic of the alert and it doesn't care what node you test against.
-
Very impressive. I had set this aside for a while because I wasn't making any progress. Looks like you are on the right track. Are you building a custom poller for every parameter for every modem? That would be a problem for us since we have 500+ iDirect modems. Am I missing something here (again)?

Thanks for replying. I’m sure much magic can be made with UnDP but I haven’t gotten that far yet. I’m just trying to get my ducks in a row before putting the hard sell on management for SolarWinds.
-
I see it now. Thanks for your help.
-
I don't see Next Poll but Last DB synch was 25 seconds ago and Last DB update was 1 second ago.
-
Good question and answer. I've been trying to figure out how to do that.
-
I'm not having any issues with ${NodeName}. I was commenting on the original post.
-
We only only have four views but it works great.
-
Perfect. That's what I was looking for.
-
Thanks for the reply. We have a bunch of S5700 series switches so that would be an issue. Sounds like a MIB thing. I going to try to do a little research on Huawei MIBs and see if anything turns up. How are you getting on with eSight? You are the first person I've come across who admits to having heard of it.
-
Thanks for the response. I am currently monitoring Huawei switches and firewalls using eSight. That's Huawei's answer to SolarWinds but it's not much of an answer. I would love to get back to SolarWinds but those counters you are missing are a pretty big deal.Do you happen to know if you guys have any Hauwei-specific MIBs…

Hello LadaVarga, Thank you very much. Easy Fix. * * * * Jim Jordan* * |* Broadband Network Analyst* From: LadaVarga [mailto: solarwindscommunityteam@communications.solarwinds.com] Sent: Thursday, October 10, 2013 12:40 PM To: Jim Jordan Subject: Re: - Node Up Time thwack <thwack.solarwinds.com/index.jspa>Node Up Time…

Sorry for the slow reply. It took me a while to understand what you were saying. It does indeed work like you say. Thanks for your help.
-
${CurrentValue} did the trick. Thanks for your help.
-
Are you able to pull these stats from individual remote modems?
-
Good snag. I don't know how I missed it but ${GroupStatusRootCause} is exactly what I was looking for. Thwack saves me again. Thank you very much.
-
Can you elaborate a little ">RichardLetts ?
-
Sounds good. Thanks very much for your help.
-
Thanks for your reply. That's the road I've been going down and I can generate an alert when one or the other goes down. What I haven't figured out is how to get the alert to tell me whether its the satellite or terrestrial link that's down. I appreciate your interest.
-
Home Run! That does exactly what I needed to do. Thanks for teaching me a new trick.
-
I cannot ping the nodes from the poller they are assigned to. The nodes are not powered up. I have the alert set up but it will not work if NPM is showing the node as up when it is not. I've never noticed NPM doing this before.
-
We are running 10.6.1. The nodes are set set up for status only (ICMP). These are satellite modems that don't support SNMP. We monitor several hundred of these devices like this but I've never noticed them do this. But then again, I am not usually the person who adds nodes to NPM.
-
No I never did. I have the group fire an alert fire an alert when 100% of the nodes in the group go down. Not exactly what I had in mind but it was the best I ever came up with.
-
Thanks for the responses guys. You got me to thinking about it and it turns out what I was trying to do was pretty simple. I simply drill down to the node and click on Availability Statistics. I then customize the chart to what I'm looking for and click on raw data. The data shows up in a spreadsheet and I'm done. I…
