That may be but it did not pop up as a suggested data for the part number. This is tiring. I’m telling you there is a problem with how the database is interacting with the part numbers and you’re just arguing there isn’t. The fact is the EOL tool is NOT reliable and I have shared with you the proof. I just went through 540…

Part of the problem is the Orion install sets the service recovery mode as restart for netperfmon. You can do a shut down all you want but as soon as the windows service detects it's down it will restart it. What I've been dowing is going into the Service MMC and setting the recovery modes to do nothing before I do a shut…

I had a bit of a problem. Apparently when Orion installs as a service it sets the service recovery mode in windowsw as "Restart Service" for first, second, and subsequent failures. This feature does not show up on the Orion Service Manager. It only shows up under Windows Computer Managment/Services. Consequently when I…

There’s nothing wrong with the install. Your people have been over it on some other issues we had just after the 7.3 install. Let me try and clarify this a bit. I have 540 37xx devices. Of that amount 400 are not assigned EOL dates. Of the 400 devices not assigned, 100% of those show dates that either are yellow or red.…

Let me be even more specific. I have a Cisco WS-C3750G-24TS-E1U. It has an EOL document on the Cisco web site, www.cisco.com/.../eol_c51-696372.html. The dates listed in the Cisco document are not mentioned at all in the Suggested dates for that part number in the Orion NCM database. It took me less than 1 min to find the…

What I’m saying is that if it isn’t a sure fit or even a close fit then don’t show me suggested dates because those dates are…

I'd like to know when the requirment for slx changed to 8g or more as well as the requirement for 64bit servers. I was under the impression that up until 10.1 it was still 32bit servers with 4g of memory. This is a major change and it appears you guys have not made a stand alone announcement to this affect. I surmizing…

That is being done every night and has been active since the 7.3 update. SO my original statement stands. You’re giving me 100% useless data on the class of device I mentioned

Since I started this thread, my question is why didn't Solarwinds reach out to the existing user population prior to this version and get feedback on use of CLR. The research I've done via the internet as well as the feed back from this group is that the majority of DBA's don't and won't use CLR. I realize that Solarwinds…

Ok I just had this same problem again for the 3rd time in 2 months. Had to reboot the server to clear the problem. Clearing the web cache and restating the web server has no effect. Is any one in Solarwinds actually monitoring this site to see how it's customer feel or what problems they are having. There is a thread…

Brandon, apparently the url for the Thwack link to SDK support doesn't work. I get an error message when I link to it

This has what the expectation of most customers has been all along. If I design some thing in report writer and preview it there, then my expectation is that it will look exactly the same on the web page
-
No idea on the report issue. However, the volume issue is an easy fix. Go to Manage Views under admin then edit Volume Details. Remove the statments that say Energywise and save it. That should fix the issue. You can get your reports going again by going to report writer function on the main server and pulling up the…

Actually I worked with a very nice lady in support for several hours yesterday and she discovered there is some kind of permission problem between the web site and the sql server. She's run diagnostics and looked at logs and has forwarded all those to her Tier 3 to look at. Our set up is straight out of the box. The SQL…

Not sure why that would be. We're using them 6509's

Where is update inventory? I’ve looked all across the EOL screen and only see the refresh suggested dates
-
Roger that. I don't have any real requirements that be done via the web page, So I for one would have no problems with it being done from the client. Just need it sooner rather than later.
-
That is correct. Essentially I would like to see reports display exactly the same way in both places which is what one would expect.

We are polling 125000 interfaces across 2000 devices. We have on main server and 3 more polling servers. We run the database on a fifth corporate database server running SQL 2008 Enterprise. The database is the only one on that server. The database is at around 20 Gbytes in size. We only store data up to nine months back…

As an added note, Custom Fields on the End of Support web page show the dates backwards. In other words the custom fields show YYYY/MM/DD and then a T and the time, while the non-custom property files, EOL and EOS, show mm/dd/yyyy and no time. I’ve put a ticket in to support on this. The odd thing about it is when you look…
-
Ok so while this works it is extremely cumbersome in that the dates have to be entered in two places. I cannot enter the custom field dates on the same screen that I enter the EOL/EOS dates. Somehow Solarwinds needs to allow custom fields to be assigned to specific functions such as life cycle management. More so than just…

Got it thanks

I’m in all week so feel free to call

It does poll via the job engine. You just don’t need to poll as often for configs. The combination of checking once a day and Real Time Config pulls get everything needed. So NCM is not your problem. You need to look at your polling intervals under settings/polling settings. The default is 120 seconds. But having said that…

Look at the graph that represents packets Also look at the graphs for traffic. You can find these on the console

I have the report problem on some reports and I have the same kind of error message when I attempt to access volume information from any monitored server. Support indicates the report problem is a bug and dev is working on it. I just turned in a support ticket on the Volume isse but I'm betting it's the same issue as…

Apparently Solarwinds has changed the way they poll for hardware info. I was just told as follows: We use small "poller" files which contain specific OIDs that are written directly in to the poller and do not reference the MIB in any way. The MIB database is only used for translating traps and providing easier set up and…

I understand what the purpose is, I just don’t agree with it. The entire point of the site is community assistance with Solarwinds products. I don’t mind that your trying to attract a certain demographics with the games. I do mind that it’s so prominently displayed to the detriment of the useable content. The site has…

Every thing we're monitoring is in the same domain so I don't need to see the domain name beside every thing. Also we already use pretty long device names. Adding the domain to the end of that causes all the displays and report headings to wrap
