Good to hear I'm not the only one seeing this. :)

"Let me get this straight is anyone here actually running an additional poller without NPM at a remote site miles away?" Yes, we have customer doing this today and added some functionality to the APEs to help support this model. Additionally, if you look at the WWWO for NPM you'll see a "Remote APE" listed in the ongoing…

Did you install the HotFix? If so you have the ability to tell UDT that the device is a Layer 3 device. This can be done on the edit node page for the device in question.

aLTeReGo would have been the PM to add the SNMP component monitor to SAM so he will have the best answer. My best guess is that it was mainly added to support specific application monitoring for applications that only expose statistical data via SNMP (most don't, but there are a few as you can see based on the application…

You need to run the Discovery for ConnectNow to work. Also, are these access or trunk ports?
-
Mark sent me the link via PM, I'll forward it to you.

Worked really well for me. Love being able to add them via web instead of the system manager. Great job SW!!!

Ability to have Alerts sent from EOC instead of individual Orion deployments. This could just be a selected option, but for us I have to create alerts for each Orion farm.
-
Not sure there is a way to do this now, unless you're willing to do a SQL Update on the DB.
-
Happy to look into this if you want to provide the Support Ticket number. Jeff

Mine works correctly in v3.5.

I think AD is on their list for the future, but not sure what its priority is. As far as the once place to manage everything, that is something they have been working on for a long time. With each release something gets move out of the server application and into the website. My understand the goal was to move it all to…

Also on my Orion site it says Netflow Receiver Service Started 62 times and Netflow Receiver Service Stopped 11 times.

Anyone care to share what they have there Node Warning Interval set at? I'm going to try 15 seconds and see how that goes.

serramg What version of NCM are you currently running?
-
I feel it is really necessary to ensure that account limitations are applied to other data entities exposed by the API. Otherwise this becomes a security risk whereby sensitive data is exposed and also in a way which is the first query method chosen i.e. direct to the NCM or IPAM or other tables rather than including a…

Pretty sure we are saying the same thing. If you want Orion to config the switch for you then it will indeed need the RW strings. Otherwise, my preferred method of configing the switch (aka learning the config commands) and having Orion monitor the existing operation would be the other option.

Are you willing to enable TTL propagation and see what results you get?
-
I was wondering about that. It seems like a lot of work to get these kind of pages up and running. Has there been any talk about changing how you do this for future releases?
-
Pretty sure the Real-Time Analyzer only support Netflow Version 5. I think you're ASA is exporting version 9. Jeff

I'm having this same issue but it doesn't seem to be resolving itself. Has anyone else seen this? Thanks.

Keep your SQL off your Orion boxes like you have planned. Also, no VM for the SQL server, but it is fine to run the polling engines on VM. You're in the right place to ask these questions. Good luck!

When can we sign up for 9.0 beta ;)

Virtual Server #1 - NPM, NTA, SAM, IPAM, WPM, UDT, NCM & FSM. Virtual Server #2 - NetFlow Database Virtual Server#3 - LEM (Virtual Appliance) Virtual Server #4 - VMAN (Virtual Appliance) Physical Server #1 - SQL Server Do you have an current WSUS server for Patch Manager?
-
Can you enable the session tracing and past the output of that here for that device?
-
I didn't have any problems and haven't see any thus far.
-
I don't uderstand why you added another NIC. We have between 8K-10K elements per poller and don't even put a dent in a single NIC. Maybe it's something with your DB. Tell us about that setup.
-
We are monitoring 300 interfaces across 6 devices. There are usually 10,000+ active nodes on the network at a given time.

I would take a look at this if you haven't already; Creating a Windows Script Monitor All the scripts will require an exit code and a statistic. You can also include a message with the statistic, but that is optional. Scripts can output 10 different statistics if you're looking to report on multiple statistics.

Anything been done with this?
