We have a much larger deployment and see similar performance problems. I've been hoping for a performance upgrade on the software side. I know SW will recommend a RAID 10 and I think that is in the documentation.

You actual define the message you want sent based off the trap received. So with the trap you've displayed, you're being notified that the configuration has changed on 10.20.241.168. If you pair this with NCM it will actual do a comparison of the old config and the new config and send you the details of the change. Let me…

Lance, Just curious, since you have Adonis why didn't you stay with Bluecat and get Proteus? My guess would be cost. We have looked at both and have had numerous talks with both SW and Bluecat. Since SWs product is new to the market we decided to wait until it matured. Also, I don't think I ever bought anything based on…

Is there a way to just select certain Nodes for alerting?
-
Can you verify that the device is sending flow information to the Orion server? 'Show ip cache flow' to see the netflow statistics. Also verify using wireshark that the packets are making it to the server. If you want to filter for just those packets apply the cflow filter.

The recommended max number of elements in a single instance of NPM is ~100,000 and ~150,000 component monitors per instance for SAM. The recommended max number of APEs per Orion instance is ~20. Jeff

This works and we've also edited the page to make it work. Probably not the cleanest solution since an upgrade might break it.
-
We run very close to 10k on 3 servers, everything seems to run pretty well.
-
Link for this appears to be dead, does anyone have a copy of this doc? Thanks.

I was seeing the same issues as you guys. I had to remove some elements and now have around 10,000 per server. This seems to be keeping the syncing going. However, every time I restart my NetPerfMon service I have to wait a very long time, sometimes upwards of 20 minutes for the DB to sync. It basically is the amount of…

Yes, I would submit the MIBs and we can add them to our MIB-DB.

If you're still having trouble please email me the following files (All files from the NCMSAConnector.log (located in the NCM Connector install directory)) and I will investigate the issues. It's also important that your NCM is running the latest hotfix. Jeff

Counters rolling over?

That is a setting under your account. Edit your account and select the /Reports folder.

It when quite smoothly for me as well, just prepare for > 3hrs for the upgrading! My DBs is about 50GB. Wow, my DB is over 50GB and it took 10 minutes per poller to upgrade. Wonder what the difference is.
-
Those specs would be a good starting point. Are you only collecting information for NPM or do you have other modules riding on the APE too? Typically we recommend a Dual Quad Core & 16GB of RAM. Jeff
-
That could be a work around, but not really the solution I'm looking for. I would expect this to behave the same way as other view within Orion. If I click on a device that doesn't have netflow, then the netflow charts don't show up.
-
Pat, Interesting concept, is this for security reasons? However, I don't think that the solution you're looking for is possible with Orion. Jeff
-
Top 10 Domains would be the last for me also, I just don't think it should take the amount of time it is taking to load.
-
I'm also having the same problem. Has support found a fix for this?
-
James, Are you using SNMP version 2 or 3 on your Nexus devices? There is a compatibility checker tool located in the Orion\UDT\ folder that you can run against the devices to see what it supports. This will also gives you an indication of the MIBs/OIDs we poll to return information. Jeff

We are seeing this also on our Orion deployment that includes NTA. On our Orion DB that doesn't have NTA everything runs smooth.
-
No worries, that is what the forum is for :)
-
"Is there any reason not to put the OS and logs on the same disk?" - You can do that also and may have to if you can only fit 6 drives in your server. I would just recommend having the logs and the DB on seprate drives. I've always been told by the SW guys to do RAID 1 for the OS and RAID 10 for the DB. I think that setup…

v10.2 installed on my Windows 7 RTM just fine :) So far everything seems to be working.

No Virtualization Manager shouldn't come into play here since it's a virtual appliance and has its own database locally. Jeff
-
It's a known issue we are working to address. Let me check with the team to see if we can manually apply the fix. I will follow-up with you shortly. Jeff

You don't have interface listed in this list?

Can you verify with a PCAP that flow data is reaching the NTA server. If so, do you think you could provide a PCAP for us to review so we can see what's going on with the data?
-
Anyone from SW have a solution for this?
