Vic - I am curious... If you click on related, do you see the child objects from the dependency? If you go to the child object and look at the map, do you see the parent object shown as connected on the map canvas?

Orion Map projects do not have a native method through the UI to export as of this release. However, your browser certainly should be able to provide those options. In Chrome I simply jump into View Mode - hide the Inspector Panel, and then press Ctrl+P (or Cmd+P if you are on a Mac) to open the Print dialog. Change the…

Curious which maps you are referring too. I believe you are likely using WorldWide Map resource, but I could be wrong. Can you share some screenshots?

Hello @"krc85aggie" - I want to be sure what you are asking for. It sounds like you are using the map editor and then building specific maps out for different teams. You don't need Admin rights to view maps, unless you are attempting to only view maps through the Map Management list view which is designed to show each user…

Available in the latest release of Orion Maps - Orion Platform 2019.4 - Orion Maps is Now Available In the Entity Library change the Entity Type to Groups > Select the Group, and click the button for Show Related which will provide a list of all members of that Group.
-
Can you clarify or show some general screenshots of what you are hoping for? Is it just the color of an object on the canvas? What is the use case behind this? Have you checked out - Orion Platform 2019.4 - Orion Maps is Now Available

Unfortunately there is not a way that is native to that widget. Another way may be to just use a custom table widget. Using a custom table choose the datasource and specify Orion Maps. I then chose "Map Name" and actually added "Status" as my two columns. Under the Map name column you can use the Details Link. Once done…

tomaddox - Any chance you can share a visual (screenshots)? I want to be sure I am understanding the exact behavior you are looking for. The contextual sub-views should have a muting feature which will visualize the immediate relationships on the canvas, and you also have the filters in the Inspector Panel which can…

@"krc85aggie" This is certainly an understood request. But if you are getting 3 to 20, our default should be 100. You should be able to click the top entity, then shift click the last entity to select them all and drag them on to the map. Does that work for you?

pony10 if having difficulty getting in the door with NPM, I would suggest taking a look at SolarWinds ipMonitor. Great product that is inexpensive, light-weight, and provides monitoring for network devices and applications.

@"MWarmack" This is amazing feedback and detail! Thank you! All of them are very clear except I could use a bit of expansion on this particular topic: Building objects like in Network Atlas for NOC screen maps with companies with many locations. Could you elaborate what you have in Atlas and what you ultimately wish to…

This might hopefully provide some options for you. With 12.3 release we added a resource that allows you to roll up status of specific entities. A NetPath Service would be considered an entity. Simple NetPath Summary Widget

So to clarify - this thread is interested in being able to select specific nodes, applications, etc... to have a customized view that doesn't impact devices using default views? So beyond what the Views by Device Type functionality offers today, correct? Some of the previous comments seem like the current functionality may…

I would be curious as to what the NPM Topology resource represents as a part of these connections. It may identify a connection between elements but doesn't have enough information to specify an interface in this case. I would recommend taking a look at the latest release of Orion Maps which will let you define those types…

neil_colyn - Correct the Tiles are meant to allow the user to see status and drill in to see what applications are in that status in a pre-filtered view. To create the table, you would simply use the Custom Table resource. I went through a number of examples in this thread. UNDERSTANDING CHANGES IN EOC 2.0 - CREATING…

carlotoole@fluidata.co.uk - Take a look at EOC 2.0 as EOC users are able to run reports and customize which sites they wish to see data from. Users can also import reports into EOC to customize for use across all instances. **Helpful Hint; Good idea to standardize custom properties across instances to make this easier.

The monthly missions are certainly designed to be an informative tool. In some cases this can be just as informative for SolarWinds as it is for our community. Orion Maps is a fairly new feature of the platform. Like any feature within the platform, incorporating more modules, begins to provide more data. These maps are…
-
@"kpmarcin" - curious, if the graphical status of anything such as CPU, Memory, or a Custom Poller was surfaced through the parent entity itself, would that work for your use case? So if CPU hit a threshold, or a custom poller hit a threshold and the Node itself represented a critical or warning status, would that work? If…

Curious if adjusting this setting would actually resolve most of the issues with the page refresh mentioned above?
-
@"jack.vaughan" - What modules are you installing? That would be expected if you are for instance installing a stand alone NPM, as the Network Performance Monitor is not collecting interface info via WMI. If the Server and Application Monitor (SAM) is being installed, you should absolutely be detecting interfaces via WMI.
-
@"kpmarcin" - It sounds like from your summary above, you add and customize an object and then copy and paste it multiple times, then you manually change the assignment of each object in order to get the desired result? In Orion Maps there is not currently a function in which you can copy and paste, but I am not sure that…
-
Thanks cnorborg this is well understood. This may be something the Maps Team can do in a future release, but it may also really be that we need to make adjustments to how Groups function. There have been multiple times where users want to add other widgets outside of a map to a Group Details page and have it not impact…

Have you taken a look at the latest Orion Maps release? Orion Platform 2019.4 - Orion Maps is Now Available

This was a general example in order to get clarity on the meaning of "unpleasant". Correct - it can be downloaded and ran from a workstation or accessed from the Orion server. Many users do not like either of those options and would prefer access to the tool to be incorporated into the web console.

EOC 2.0 Provides this functionality in 2 ways. The new Enterprise Summary Tiles can be customized to highlight status and alerts in a number of different ways. Drilling down via the status icons or entity numbers will provide pre-filtered lists within the Asset Explorer. Below is an example: The Enterprise Operations…

This is a highly requested feature. I am curious if you could elaborate on some of the ideal functionality you would need to make this work. Is this more of a basic connector between objects or do you think its more important to be able to draw a line in general, even if it doesn't connect to any endpoints? What would…
