Awesome - remember this may be tied to the polling interval so you may have just needed to wait for a fresh poll. Glad I could help!
-
Thanks jhandberg - I would suggest creating a support ticket and grabbing diags, some specific node IDs, and SNMP walks and that way the NPM engineering team can investigate. If you would like to re-post the case number here so we can use this for reference, please do so.
-
rockgeek and dfairles - I would recommend upgrading but if you are saying the connections are unknown, then we need to monitor the interface. For example, the only connections that will be drawn automatically in the screenshot would be the ones in which I have a monitored interface on either side. If one of those is…

Well great! Hopefully you can show us the new map!

Can you clarify which specific views you are seeing this error message. And if there are other views you are seeing a slightly different error message, please also clarify that information as well. Also provide the case number that is opened with support.

@"chippershredder" What type of account is being used? Orion, Active Directory, or SAML? If you are seeing the wrong credentials on the remote instance, you may have automatic login using Windows Authentication enabled. If that is the case, Windows creds will take precedence over the pass-through creds. Please let us know…

@"sachsj" - @"dunky2k" is correct - there are limitations set - but as mentioned in that response he shared, they can be adjusted. It however is not unfortunately as simple or as easy as just adding more storage to accommodate more maps. Everyone's environment will likely be different so I would encourage you to monitor…

@"bharris1" This is one of those items we are aware of and it unfortunately just didn't make it in the 2020.2 release. However most customers I speak with would correlate this more closely to the World-Wide Map use case and would prefer to include this with the automatic geo-location rather than a manual map. Both are…

Anything is possible but unfortunately we are unable to share any roadmap discussions beyond our What We're Working on Posts. I would certainly recommend submitting a Feature Request on what you would be looking from for a Mobile App.
-
stuartd You stated the following - I've noticed today that some of our maps where we have used "ConnectNow" are not showing the details of those links in NPM. What does this mean? Are you indicating the link is no longer visible and is no longer showing metrics on the map while others are still working? Are you indicating…

Thank you for sharing your thoughts designerfx. We always strive to think about our different users and use cases in the design of our features, and yet we cannot always win everyone over. I can understand your opinion on the click to drag behavior, as a matter of fact, this was the way we implemented that functionality…

Perfectly a great idea. But this is actually available now. For example, we tested the zooming behavior on the static sub-views. So if you go to a node details page there is always a pre-built map for you of that object and its immediate relationships. You can certainly zoom in and out to see how the data on the map…
-
Noted - a dependency could be used for now to accomplish that if you wish. Otherwise it is certainly something we are hoping to provide in a future release.
-
Thank you! These are great requests. Part of what we are doing is tackling a massive project but trying to provide value along the way. We simply can't get everything done in a single release. We understand it can't come fast enough, but this also allows us to hear from our users and make adjustments on things that just…
-
xtraspecialj - we would certainly love to provide the tool your Network Team is looking for. Are they more interested in seeing a map of the flow data represented? When you say you can create what they are looking for, what kind of map is that? What enhancements would allow you to create that same map in less time? I…
-
Absolutely - I think we always have an opportunity to do better! We are certainly always trying to improve. I also had another thought around this. If the end goal is to get the Higher Level object (lets say a node) to change status, you could perform this with an alert. Here is a general example (I used a quick UnDP I had…
-
Thanks designerfx and mblackburn - this is certainly very cool. From what I am reading, you seem to have a very strong knowledge of your environment and how it is connected. Some of the queries being utilized sound like you are mapping connections based on data you already have a clear understanding of in order to graph…

This is not possible today, but something we are certainly thinking about for future releases in the Orion Maps project. If you havent already, I would certainly recommend checking out the NPM beta forum and looking at the Maps Beta post. Thanks for sharing and stay tuned!

If the question is - Do Orion Maps adhere to limitations? - the answer is yes.

Have you had a chance to review the posts I added to this thread? UNDERSTANDING CHANGES IN EOC 2.0 - The Enterprise Summary View UNDERSTANDING CHANGES IN EOC 2.0 - The Enterprise Maps View These posts walk through some of the changes and differences between the two versions. Let me also add some context to your questions.…

No worries - excited to hear your feedback once you get the opportunity!

It appears that in your case, the issue is a bit unique. As you are leveraging LLDP mapping of these connections is a bit different. The support rep will likely walk you through their findings but it appears you are missing some interfaces that need to be added in order to show these connections in Orion. Based on the…
-
shuth - please report back if you find any issues. Make sure to open a support case and post it here so I can help drive any cases.
-
Right - clearly, there is no topology being seen from those devices. Just a dumb question but did you double check and perform a List Resources and can see both Topology Options checked? If these are checked, I would recommend opening a support case. Provide Diagnostics, and pick 2 nodes that you are certain have a…
-
Correct - if you are looking to visualize particular connections, we need to have each end monitored. So if currently you have Switch 1 gi1/0/1 monitored and in the NPM topology widget, you see that it is connected to Switch 2 but the interface is "Unknown" we can't really draw that connection for you. If you monitor the…

I agree that Custom Properties would likely be a better fit in this case. It would still allow you to logically "group" or separate data, better in reporting and alerting scenarios, as well as make it easy to build Orion Maps because you have filters to easily obtain specific entities and add them to a map. Once you have…

uniswtc can you confirm or provide screenshots of the web-console you are logging into? This particular thread was focused on The Enterprise Operations Console. There are certainly a number of things that can be done, and perhaps I can point you in an appropriate path.
-
reylas Can you share any screenshots? If you place a map in a widget, it does auto-fit the space available. As JaroslawLadyga pointed out, you can adjust the height from widget properties, and can expand the widget left to right in the dashboard. How many elements do you have on the map? Zooming is not available on the…
-
tdowns - the resource is available in EOC, but I suspect you are looking for the NetPath entities to be rolled up to EOC as they are not currently available from the entity picker. That is certainly something we can ask cobrien as a feature request for a future release. I will bring it up with him... oh wait, i just did .

@"langhel" There are obviously some additional options included oob but, these are for the most part simple, flat, icons. While I am always up for including more, (and would like to - including fancy 3D options and more - i have a dream ), I am curious which ones in particular you liked in Network Atlas. The icons were…
