mine was pretty smooth. I ran into a couple little issues that were flagged during the install. 1. It said VM was not up to date, so I verified and ignored this. There was no issue after with the VM integration 2. It notified me of issues with SSLv2 and gave the fix action. I followed this and had no issues 3. I use https.…

Doesn't apply to Windows 10 either.

Congrats Jay!

Having actual security policies in place, before an incident occurs, would be a good idea for any organization.

I think that if you are in IT and you don't have a trusted list of advisors, you are only hurting yourself. You can'y know it all. Things are forever changing. IT is one big field, but the good thing is that it is also filled with a lot of smart people. Specialists are everywhere. Find you specialists and use them when you…

I am constantly taking training and learning new skills. I work in an integration environment, so that is kinda nice.

Performance and availability issues...say it isn't so. I agree with all your points. So true

The number 1 thing I look for is can it do most of what I expect it to do. Then bang for the buck. Then expandibility.

Works now. Thanks DanielleH

I love how you are doing a wrap-up. You have been doing a lot of reading of posts.

I love the articles. Especially the first one. I have never been a real big fan of Apple, so I think it is rather funny how all the Apple freaks talk security. Now I have some place to point them when I tell them how wrong they are for buying into the hype.
-
Yea. It needs to be fixed. I know we have the right answer.

I do like Perfstack so far.
-
I love this one! This one is fun. I sure wouldn't mind a prize to go along with it. Lol

We do the same thing as you kurtrh. We setup autogrow with increments. We use initial and max volume sizes and pretty much use thin provisioning for everything. We haven't really had any problems with it yet. Other than always needing more space as our environment is always growing.

I agree. It doesn't mean that each team can't have their own tool for specifics. Some of the tools provide more detailed views and additional functionality that you may not be able to/want to do without. There should however be a over-arching or go-to (first look) tool used by all.
-
Sure is a lot out here about PerfStack. I hope it lives up to all the hype.
-
I did not see the bonus either

It was great meeting everyone. I wish I had had more time. You all are a good group of people!

Thank you. You may not have looked at my profile, as I am already an MVP and I am very active in the community. That was never advertised to me. I will look into this for myself. But it was posted for the general community and not just for the select few of us MVPs. I am trying to help out the SolarWinds community and not…

Don't allow them on the production side. Have a dedicated network location. Have a policy in place BEFORE allowing this. Monitor to no end

I'm good with this. Not very believable, but a nice tribute and gesture of appreciation. It was a fun contest too!
-
Ok. Thank you!

Would the text file just need to be in the same location as the ps script?

If you use the global username to login to ALL of your devices in NCM, you may be able to do a quick fix by going to Global Macro Settings>Login Information. Set the username to the global username and then click Reset for all devices. Then go to the Nightly Config job and right-click it and select Start Job. After it…
-
I am very interested in this method. Would you please share an example of this and how to map to that text file in the code. Thank you
-
And what is under Global Macro Settings>Login Information in NCM Settings? And do you use the global username to login to all of your devices in NCM?

I have ran into this on a few of my servers. I narrowed down the issue, but I am not entirely sure of the specific cause. I disabled the cause and have not had time to go back to it yet. I found my issue was with the polling of the Domain Controllers. I was using SAM to poll and when the Domain Controller Security template…

Is this really true? I am hoping that NPM 12.1 is using at least TLS 1.1. I am going to need to look now.

I really wish someone would. I have been waiting for the same thing and have been monitoring this thread too.
