I think Dang has it right. It looks like you have conflicting rules there. If you change that Java 8 to be when any instead of when all I think that should go through.
-
but you have tried manually checking for updates on the server 2 or 3 times in a row without changing anything in between checks? One other thing that isnt totally related but will cause failures is make sure you do not have the servicing stack update from april KB3020369 or the new one from september KB3177467 approved in…

hmm sorry i cant help with that. Maybe @kellytice can or you can get a hold of solarwinds tech support
-
Yeah but what im saying is I dont see how you would ever display this in Orion with ONLY the patch manager module. Does this require NPM or NTA or some other Orion module?
-
Can you try to repair the agent and delete the software distribution folder, delete the chrome update and resync manually and re-approve it?
-
well it depends if you have SCCM or just using MDT. Integrating WSUS into MDT is a little tricky. You need to add an entry for a target group in your customsettings.ini. Mine is like this [Settings] Priority=Default Properties=Target Group [Default] TargetGroup=MDT Then create a task variable in your task sequence for the…

Have you looked into MDT? Its free and is the flexible and still powerful little brother to SCCM

If you are setting the group policy for AU to download and notify it should exhibit the behavior you would like. I cant say ive ever had a problem with the updates re-downloading so im not sure ill be much help with it sorry Heres the settings for my GPO if it helps?
-
Yep, stcain said it best there, thats how its done
-
I have no idea. I dont believe its a patch manager problem. There are times you can have issues with certificates for third party publishing but ive never seen it fail to publish, only fail to install after its published. Unless someone else here knows I would check documentation from Orca.

JRE 8 in PM has not followed the same update/uninstall procedure as JRE 7 as it will not uninstall any previous version. I dont know if this is a PM issue or a Java issue but it is extremely annoying and frustrating. If you have machines that do not have Java you need to use the Java Runtime Environment 8u40 (x86 for x64)…

Its strange but I find I have to have 32 bit and 64 bit as well for any to detect. I wonder why that is? Apple has wonderful hardware but man the software is really lacking.

Just to make it easier for you i made this report. You input whatever you want to search for like Adobe, Mozilla, etc and then it will give you a report of everything that has it installed along with the OS and IP. Hope that helps Intalled Programs with OS and IP.xdq

I think I may have given you bad info. It is based on the number of nodes but the other 2 elements I believe are for NPM pricing. Ill stop posting here as I cannot remember if its only managed computers or there is something else. Sorry about that.
-
You may want to ask Solarwinds tech support. Unfortunately Lawrence passed away so will not be able to help with this.
-
It does uninstall through update management. Not sure what you are trying to accomplish here but that could be one option for you
-
Does it show as a needed update for any PCs? If its not even listed in the windows update log then I would think that the AU agent doesnt know about it.

Patch Manager installs SolarWinds Client components - SolarWinds Worldwide, LLC. Help and Support It looks like it does it automatically for you. Its been a long time since Ive set things up and im pretty sure mine is GPO along with my third party self signed certificate but I also remember having these go out through…

You can just send me the R2D2 charging hub you won this week as payment for helping lol. Grats on that btw

Microsoft's detection logic and common sense detection logic are two different things. Glad you got it figured out
-
I think you need to publish it yes. You dont need to approve it for anything though. Find the update and click update management Then click the update name and select uninstall from the dropdown Then go to add computers with rules, add what you would like to uninstall on and youll be good to go.

I was talking to someone at Solarwinds who said there will probably be an incremental update next year likely in the fall. The problem is that PM just kinda works and there is very little incentive for solarwinds to invest. Products like Shavlik are miles ahead in some ways and PM is much better that others in ways too. I…

Have you tried running the configuration wizard again?
-
Keeping up with the latest OS's? Windows 10 changed how it pulls update info so there is no way now to pull update history and a few other things. Windows 10 has been out for 2 years now.
-
Im not sure you can tie the reboot/shutdown task to an update but either way the grace period on the task is up to 60 minutes

Here is a link to the re-index script from microsoft https://gallery.technet.microsoft.com/scriptcenter/6f8cde49-5c52-4abd-9820-f1d270ddea61 I would run it once a month or when you run the cleanup wizard. I have both things set up to run automatically once a week on sundays, the cleanup wizard is scheduled through patch…

This is a custom application you are trying to publish? It looks like your applicability rules are wrong when you created it.
-
thanks for the feedback dfoli. I have tried many ways to get the applicability rules to detect as needed but so far am not able to. If you do figure it out let me know as I have pretty much given it up as a useless patch
-
I cant even publish it as it is. Ive tried to just put it through from solarwinds and its the same error. Its like the solarwinds package and the oracle files are different versions or something
