I am still seeing this problem I ahve an advanced alert set to email me when the response time for a node in a certain vendor group is greater than or equal to 1000ms. There are no escalation options configured at this time. I continue to get emails that have response times of much less than 1000. The alert works fine as a…

Anything new on this bug fix?
-
I am testing that now. I currently have a single immediate email action. The first test gave a response time > q50ms, so it looks llike it may work. The question is, if the escalation time delays are the problem, is that a bug do you think? That would be a big deal since it would effectively negate the ability to employ…

Thanks for the input all. One other question.. could rebooting the router have caused the config changes to enable NetFlow to kick in when the startup config loaded? Maybe the running config didn't actually effect the changes that were needed? By the way, we never saw any error messages in Orion, and I had already verified…

If I may jump in please.... Mark based on your last entry, does that mean that it is advisable to set the time window on the General tab to a lower number so that the advanced alert engine will query the DB more often? Would that possibly increase the accuracy of status determinations of upstream devices on which the…

mfraser, Any update on your situation? Have you been able to move your DB server onto the LAN with your pollers?
-
Got an opinion on this Andy?
-
Yes, they are essentially the same IOS version. May never figure this one out. I suppose at this point, I am just wondering what "checklist" I should keep handy to consult when the data does not immediately flow into Orion when I expect it to.
-
Thanks for the help qle. I did get this to work when I used ${IP_Address} rather than ${IP}.
-
Thanks Mark. I will operate on that assumption in case anyone asks me.
-
I don't think you have condition 3 correct - at least based on my experimentation. I set up a simple node down suppression and the alert didn't even appear in the status window at all, as I would have expected. After all, suppression conditions are supposed to prevent the entire alert from firing at all. In any event, we…

And the second one....
-
Ditto. This is a good question, the alert states need a full explanation.
-
Thank you so much Yann. That is the level of detail I was looking for. Appreciate it.
-
Well, it seems the problem has been solved. I had not designated a default printer on the server. Since I did that, the Preview function works fine. Thanks for the help, all.

Andy, Well, the NetFlow data started appearing on the website after the source router was rebooted. Does that make sense? Is ti possible that the configuration changes didn't take until the reboot?\ In any event, NetFlow data is now flowing on a production router. The lab router still has no data though. The last thinfg we…

My problem still exists. I have no file named NodeTree.ascx in the designated location with a couple hindred lines in it. Can anyone help?
-
Oooops! Forgot the screenshots. Here they are.

Ah, ok. But, I don't suppose that I could monitor 2100 nodes just by choosing to monitor only 1900 interfaces. A max of 2000 of any one element type?
-
Any help on this? I am seeing the same thing too. Preview has a blank screen except for a small black dot in the middle.

Denny, Perhaps I am not fully understanding what is meant by "not triggered" and "not triggered", but I ran the following experiment: Alert 1 - simple node down with immediate email sent; alert eval frequency set to 1 minute. Alert 2 - simple node down with email sent after 5 minutes; alert eval frequency set to 1 minute.…

As it happens, I had just rebuilt my SolarWinds server this weekend and loaded all the latest versions. I am using SQL 2005 Express.
-
Great. So do I need to re-apply SP1 and if so what is the link to the correct version?
-
Yes, I m using the custom HTML resource with Orion 9 SP2.
-
MArk? See what I mean?
-
Thanks, Denny. I think I may have historically confused the functions of a hot standby server. If I understand correctly, a hot standby can take over for any poller in your network, but it will ONLY assume the NPM polling. It can never do any NTA, APM, or wireless polling. Correct? If so, are there any plans to come out…

No problem Casey. Your explanation actually brings to mind another minor question. I know that if a dependency exists in the Orion database for an object, NPM will check the status of the parent before setting the status of the child. If the parent is a single device, is that device actually pinged again, ordoes NPM just…

So, if the version of Server 2003 or 2008 one is using is capable of accessing more than 4GB RAM, then Orion will be able to do so?

hello, anyone home?
