Is there anyway this can be done via a custom property or through another method? We are running into the same problem and would like to use the Location field but some devices are either incorrect (because the vendor didn't give access to all snmp settings) or not available because of no snmp. To us if we could have it…

It is likely that your node list is sorting based on device icon. Try right-clicking in the tree list area and clicking "Select Fields and Grouping". Move Node Name so that it is first in Selected Properties list. Let me know how that works. Chris, is there anyway to have the device icon listed first but still sort by…

I'd like to throw my hat into the ring here and say that would be very helpful for us as well. We monitor our European sites from North America and they currently see everything in Eastern Standard time.

Yann is right... We haven't enabled netflow on our core but we have on all our WAN Edge routers. A great deal of our WAN traffic is traffic to our Proxy. We can't see where people are going or what they are doing but we do see who is using the most bandwidth. It has come in handy before. I've worked with a few people to…

Thanks Denny!

This has been brought up before and I believe it was logged. I also asked that we'd be able to add some descriptive text that would display next to the property.

We're not allowed to use anything other than IE at our Company so I created an html page that loads an iFrame then there is some javascript that changes the source every 30-60 seconds. It works fairly well. (Execpt that it uses iFrames! )

After doing some more research, it doesn't seem like that option is a good option either. The run-config command seems to show all the config in a nice fashion and the running-config shows some basic settings but neither provides a way to restore the device. Here's something I found on the netpro forums when someone asked…

I haven't done any more work on it. I'm thinking that my assumption is correct and I was hoping someone could verify it.
-
Ahhh, it did...

I believe there is an open enhancement request for this but today it isn't possible.
-
Thanks for the response! Are there any drawbacks or things we'd need to worry about by disabling Snort? Since we're just getting up and running it seems like disabling it would be the best route right now.

I agree... Option 1 is nice but we'd be forwarding from one Orion server to another which as you said is a different problem. Therefore we'd have to use option 2 to get the information. Having both would allow for the greatest flexibility.

I forth it! :) We use the device name to help with some of our Life Cycle Managment numbers and all the 3560V2's we have installed show up as Cisco. We replaced devices and our numbers didn't change. It caused a little concern until I explained the situation but our ability to upgrade to new versions is going to start to…

I would like to see this as well. We can't see some of our nodes now that the header is there.

I'm in the same boat. Our UPS's send the same trap type for "on battery" and "return to normal." There are also a handful of other traps that come in that we don't care about with the same trap type. The trap details section contains everything needed to tell the difference between the traps.

When I opened my ticket I was basically told that this was expected behavior. The Config Compairison criteria are not used by the pie charts. The funny part is that line you mentioned will *never* be the same. As soon as someone logs in and goes to the config it changes. I gave a few suggestions on how I thought things…

Cisco - 1.3.6.1.4.1.9.1.929 - cat296024S Any time frame on when these get added?
-
Cisco - 1.3.6.1.4.1.9.1.896 - catalyst65xxVirtualSwitch Just curious... about how long does it take to get these added?

I agree with Chris, I like the gradient looks better. Is there a selectable option for this like there is for the color?
-
I'll second this!!!
-
Thanks Phil. Being new to the software, I wasn't sure this was expected behavior or not. Thanks for the response!

I guess Orion mapped the device to Cisco as it cannot map the device OID to a specific model. The SysObject ID of your new model is probably not in the database. You might want to add a comment about your issue in the following thread: "Tell us your "Unknown" devices!" Thanks, Yann I asked this in the other thread but…

Thank You all for your responses.. i am looking to be able to edit the Vendor field and from what i gather it is a locked field ie unable to edit.. I will just hope for Solarwinds to make that function available in the future.. it sure would male things alot easier... I'll second that, and I would LOVE to be able to edit…

Awesome, That worked! Thanks!

We've been using 1.3.6.1.4.1.9.10.19.1.1.4 under CiscoPopMgmt and it has worked well. Most of our gateways only have a single T1 so I haven't tested it with multiple interfaces.
-
We've had it running since the 11th and haven't had any problems so far.

Thanks Denny! I'm eagerly awaiting 3.0!

Sorry, I should have posted everything I've done but I was in a bit of a hurry. I've removed both modules after trying the repair. The services would start, then stop right away. In the voip monitor, if I try to add a site, it tells me I can't because the service isn't started. For Orion, I've run the repair and re-applied…

I have it set to our hostname. When I go to monitor it shows "swi-lem" still.
