Could you please post, that would be great. Sure thing, here's what I got: Overview:We use Oracle to monitor the database. Oracle connects to the SQL Server database and executes a view created on the SQL Server database. We then report the results. Here's the view: use NetPerfMon select ServerName, Keepalive from Engines

It looks like the pictures didn't come through with the forum upgrade. Lets say you get some data in your trap that you want to look for. Lets call it dpSeverity. In the trap, you see dpSeverity = Critical You'll need to find that oid or that value in the mib tree. You then add a "AND" value and set it in the proper…

Awesome, that worked! The 21 was a row count. Now I hope that it doesn't keep sending "cleared" events with the same text in the descr.

From what I've seen Cisco's been changing commands slightly in each version they move up. From what I've seen 4.1.185.0 is considered a stable version of code for the controllers. I had to open a support case a week or so ago and they suggested that we go with 4.2.130.0 as it was a "more stable" release. We had a problem…

When you say the modules are web based, I'm assuming that you mean the administration of them. From what I can see, they both require their assoicated services to be running to function correctly. When I try to add a site in the VoIP Monitor settings, it tells me it can't because the service isn't running. I did see a…

That's a very good point... Back to the drawing board!

Would restarting both services help fix my problem? Everything still shows no data.

If I could get APM to be stable, I might be able to get some data. I checked before I left and it was collecting data then when I checked this morning it hadn't collected in 12 hours. I checked and both the Job services weren't running. I restarted them and got 1 collection and now it's been over 50 minutes since the last.…

Well in interest of trying to help our environment, we purchased an additional poller and an additional web interface. I installed EOC on our additional web server as it was causing problems on our Main Poller. I came into today and the same folder was full again that I first posted about. All that is installed on the…

This question was talked about a lot after the release of 9.5. It basically comes down to this... System Manager and Web Functionality are 2 seperate code trains and have to be managed as such. When a new feature would be added, it is likely it would have to be coded twice thus slowing down development. There are many…

Thank you! I'll be sure to do that! Would there be any harm in copying the following directories from the old server to the new? c:\inetpub\SolarWinds* c:\Program Files\Solarwinds\*

Ahhh, Thank you! It was in the Global All Nodes resource... I renamed the title so I'm not sure what it was...
-
The thing that I've noticed is slow is when it first loads the node list (and then every time it refreshes it.) It can take a few seconds to load so if I have to change 10 items, I have to go through that each time. I've really noticed it when I want to seach and make changes on a few devices. I search, make a quick…

Ok, so since we are monitoring all the interfaces in NPM we are seeing the VPN Tunnel traffic on the Device overview even though we are not monitoring that interface through NTA because the egress traffic goes out interfaces that are monitored.

Thanks for the post. I think I found that before and it doesn't work, that guide is for the E-Series router not the J-Series. I was striking out finding documentation for the J-Series.
-
I see them as different but both as important. (That probably doesn't help does it.) I think for current nodes it would be great if it we could set it as automatic, when a new interface is added to the device, Orion starts to monitor it. For the nodes, a report of what needs added and maybe a way to tell it to add it would…

Sorry! FYI, all 3 routers we're using are 2821's.

I'm "testing" IE 8 so I'll have a couple of the people using IE 7 try it and see if the same problem exists. The way I got it was to do software upgrade on our switches using the archive download-sw command. It filled the output pretty well.

I saw someone else mention one of those types of services. I was hoping we would be able to stick one at the equivalent of someone's house but it sounds like that would require a few extra steps. The EC2 type services would help but would give us limited testing. We have a few bigger markets we'd like to test from and our…

That worked great! Has there been any thought to a couple of things... 1. Being able to define which Custom Properties are visable via the web page. (IE for EitherLocation, etc...) 2. Being able to add some text next to the custom properties as a kind of help text for people who are adding nodes. Example Region:…

I think that is good. We have 2 installations that we'll be using it on, I just want to make sure we can keep it working and consistent.

Yes they were and the message didn't contain any either. 1.1.1.1.,SSG140: NetScreen device_id=0000000000000 [Root]system-information-00767: System configuration saved by username via web from host 2.2.2.2 to 1.1.1.1 by username. (2009-03-03 01:05:54) ,3/2/2009 11:53 AM I cleaned up one of the messages and pasted it above.…

If you haven't already; enable 64bit Counters on the device and change your Counter Rollover Method to 2. Let me know if this helps! Thanks, but both were already in place.

The problem is Cisco has changed the way certain commands display certain data. The earlier versions of the controllers wouldn't actually show you the command line values used to get the current config and instead showed you the result. I'm guessing this was from the Airespace days. I've only played with one 5500 but once…

Understood... I was hoping it was something like the mibs file. I can wait on a major release. :)

Great information! I suggest someone at SW thinks about writing this up as a knowledge base article or something like that. (A sticky in thwack, etc.) I think there could be a lot of people like me that want to do this but aren't sure how to get started.
-
Ok, the name is set correctly there. Any other ideas?
-
I believe I've seen this as well using IE8. It happens to me a lot on the node management pages.
-
I had a ticket open as well and got a response the other day that it was fixed in 10. I haven't had a chance to upgrade yet to test it out.

I don't know if this would be any easier or not but in our environment, I'd want to know if the path change included our DR site. (IE: Something failed over to DR.) We use BGP multi path so the path could change back and forth between two values frequently, but if it included our DR site, I'd want to know about it.
