We don't use APC units so I don't know about there interface but is there a web interface you can look at that gives you the same info? If so, does it display it correctly? If you walk the whole 1.3.6.1.4.1.318.1.1.12.1 table, is the info correct?

Hello, Are you running EOC on the same server? I had a similiar problem before and had to open up a ticket to get it resolved.
-
I think is a very good question. It could be used on the route/switch side as well for new interfaces added (vlan, port-channel, serial, etc.)

+1 on the resizing. I love the shift click for full screen but I like to be able to export the graphs to be used elsewhere.
-
It is possible. You can setup the alerts just like the documentation says. We are running it in this method.

1280x960 (Proper 4:3 not that silly 1280x1024 stuff) I also use 1680x1050 on my laptop. We have a real mix of resolutions out there. I think everyone is higher though. (1280 or more)

Yes, in fact, it is a requirement. You can't have a polling engine use a different DB. You can seperate the web-console with an additional purcahse.

If you're not allowed to use Firefox in your envrionment and don't mind using iFrames there is some javascript I found that will allow you to rotate through different pages. It is fairly easy to use and configure. That's what we've been using to rotate through different map pages.

Are you getting the information you're looking for? It looks like the info you're getting is from a "show run-config" not from a "show running-config" We back up our WLC's using the "show running-config" because that's what we'd be able to paste back into the devices if they ever failed. The run-config command just shows…

I can answer part of your question... I have a job setup inside NCM that runs weekly that imports all nodes that have a custom property set to true. (We called it NCM_Import.) So far it works pretty well. You could set it to run more often if you like but we don't add devices that frequently. The job was pretty easy to…

I'm interested in this as well. Also, if you have and you had it running on similar hardware before, did you notice any improvments? SW Staff: Through your testing, have you noticed benefits on running on 64bit? We've done some inhouse testing and for certain app's we've seen some nice results. Since our Orion install is…

I'm not sure this is legit or not but I just created a copy of one of my Orion Maps inside the EOC Map Maker. There was a section called NetObjects at the top and SWNetObjectID thoughout the files that had data in the following format: Orion Map Maker: "N:603" EOC Map Maker: "N:603-O:5" I renamed all the objects in the…

Hello, I opened a support case because we had two services crashing in a similar manner. We are also running 9.1 SLX on Server 2003 x64. We're getting almost gig's worth of dump files a day because we still have the windows reporting settings turned up to high. Our problems seem to be mostly coming from the JobEngineWorker…

We were starting to look into Volume monitoring as well. We don't usually Label our volumes and so far the notifications have looked pretty messy with that information. I see you can rename the caption through the System Manager but that's a one by one operation that is very time consuming! Is there a better way?

There are a couple other options as well depending on how you name your devices and how you setup the logging facility. If you have your devices in DNS and use a special naming pattern for your routers then you could use that as a filter option. Also, you could use the different facility levels in syslog to help seperate…

Chris, Did you ever get this working? We just ran into the same thing. Thanks! Eric

Hello, We monitor our European offices from the mid west and we don't have any problems. The latencies are a little higher because of the WAN link but you can adjust for that pretty easily. We left everything at the defaults when we monitor over there.

I read in another post where someone had created something for the database and it helped resolve some slowness issues. ( I'm no database guy so I didn't really understand what they were talking about. I think it was something about an index...) I thought that someone from SW responded and it sounded like they were looking…

You might want to check this post... There is a good discussion going on about this topic and might have what you need in it...

I just ran into the same thing. It would seem that it is bring up the worst state like Orion was changed to. It looks like we need an option to choose "Mixed status showing warning" if I'm correct. SW, is this correct?

Is there anyway that I can copy the table in the DB from one server to the other? We've done the majority of the configuration on one server and I'd like to get them in sync so that we can make the correct changes to both going forward.

Nice list. I would still like to see some work be done on the custom properties page. IE: Be able to set a list of drop down boxes for pre-entered values to prevent someone from using the wrong values. True/False being a checkbox Ability to define a "label" for the custom property that can be used to explain what its for.

Is there something specific that you wanted to monitor and alert on? (IE: Ports / Backplane / Errors / Counters / etc.)

Here's some MIBS that need loaded:

We have some basic monitoring in place including some IP SLAs. We've done a couple UnDPs for call counting but we have RTMT installed and it gives us that data real time and that's usually when we need it. I would love to do more with Orion but haven't had time. We do monitor concurrent agent logins using APM and that has…

Here are the latest Liebert MIBS. How will I know when they are added to the SW mibs?

We use a tool that provides us a little more grandular application reporting. (It's part of the HP Openview Platform and I don't know what the name of it is.) It allows us to "record" multiple steps accessing web applications and measure each step in the process. (IE, open the page, login, select a link, enter some data,…

Hi sm, We monitor all our switch ports. We were using MRTG before moving to NPM and it monitored all the ports and we enjoyed being able to see who is using what kind of traffic. We've got nearly 20k interfaces that we monitor. We've thought about slimming it down, especially at some of our remote sites. It seems that just…

I've also seen cases where you will get oid not supported if there is no data in the table. I've seen devices that only populate things when there is a reason to and the rest of the time it is empty.
