I don't think it will always automagically add new volumes or changes to volumes. There have been a few threads reguarding servers volumes having the blue question mark next to them due to a disk change, volume ID change, LUN change, etc.

Is NPM and the database on the same server? What kind of server hardware and disk configuration are you using? You say this is a production system how many elements are in NPM and how big is the database? This: 2010-02-18 18:46:26,920 [MainTaskThread] ERROR All - Exception in MainTask Loop - Unable to create DB connection…

I also didn't realize you could get all x86 server info you would normally get on server through its snmp agent also through iLO either. If you really can do this I guess I would go for monitoring it through the iLO as it's all out of band management. This way even if the server was down or disconnected from it's regular…

This is what I try first: Usually when I get a node in this condition I go into manage nodes... do a rediscover on it... then list resources. Usually something has changed on the device and I might need to select a new interface etc. After that the node does back to normal. On server this is often a change with a disk…

I'm assuming this did work before... If you clear counters and see that the router says it's still exporting flows today then I would start looking at something that may have changed between the router and the netflow collector on the NPM/NTA server ie. did any firewall rules change? More often then not when something…

Where do you see this? Where and how are you displaying these... just in the node details for a node? Is this where you see the characters? Anothing thing that might help is what version are your running and maybe a screen shot of it. Also have you tried viewing in a different browser like firefox vs. IE? Does it do this…

I'm not sure but I'm interested in hearing what you find out... unlike many here I wait for while before upgrading. I'm still on versions right before 12.x and associated module upgrades.

My favorite file sync s/w has more options then you could ever want and there's a free version: http://www.2brightsparks.com/freeware/

I believe you can monitor the 3Com 4400 switches with the OID 1.3.6.1.4.1.43.10.27.1.1.1.7 try to walk the mib there

A lot depends on your situation. You've already caught onto one of the most important aspects of this... the time it must exist before alerting! I have some circuits that totally peg at night while things like NAS backups or large data transfers occur. If you're doing QOS this can help but you need QOS working end to end…

Maybe if you explain your use case in a little more detail we can help you out a little easier... ie. what are you trying to accomplish?

What's the difference between: NetFlow Interface Details - az25rtr03-istn - NMS LAN Switch (H1216) Last 15 Minutes Named Time Period Relative Time Period Last Absolute Time Period to Both andNetFlow Application - SNMP (161) Last 15 Minutes Named Time Period Relative Time Period Last Absolute Time Period to Both Select Flow…

Looks like something might be up see both of the following... I would think they should show the same thing: And here's the result after searching port 161:

Why can't the network atlas work more like the Network Topology Mapper (NTM)? I always kinda thought that should have been the new network atlas instead of a separate product.

Sent my classic one from one of my test networks.

You might want to post this in one of the feature request forums like this one for NPM: http://thwack.com/forums/57.aspx

I'd be interested in the answer to this as well. More and more larger companies are moving away from Win for DNS/DHCP and Infoblox seems to be one of the most solid products in this catagory esp. since Gartner has ranked it highly. rjordan wrote: When checking out the release notes for NCM 7.1, I saw the following in the…

I'm on Orion Platform 2018.2 HF3, WPM 2.2.2, SRM 6.6.0, NCM 7.8, CloudMonitoring 2.0.1, NPM 12.3, DPAIM 11.1.0, NTA 4.2.3, VMAN 8.2.1 HF1, SAM 6.6.1, NetPath 1.1.3 and now I'm starting to get issues where the the website loses some resources and won't load after a reboot a couple days later. The error on the website when I…

Our upgrade went really smooth... we also added SRM to our main system. We held off on the NTA upgrade for now: Orion Platform 2018.2 HF3, NCM 7.8, SRM 6.6.0, WPM 2.2.2, DPAIM 11.1.0, NPM 12.3, VMAN 8.2.1 HF1, NetPath 1.1.3, CloudMonitoring 2.0.1, SAM 6.6.1, NTA 4.2.3

I am still on NPM9.5 SP2 and don't notice this. I would assume this is some kind of bug then when rediscovery occurs and NPM checks for re-enumeration of the interfaces.

There are also some trojans that can cause this to happen... also if it's a DC: support.microsoft.com/.../842382

I don't see how you are going to be able to scan the customer subnet from your side unless you already have the NAT setup to reach customer side. If the NAT for these new devices might already be setup between you I suppose could scan the NAT address space on your side. Otherwise you will have to have something to do the…

The error report will often tell you additional information... the database may be fine btw.

Debbie- If you run a regular report on the same info and put the peak utilization in the report does it also differ in peak between 7 day, 1 day, or 1 hour report? (Centered around the same time) I'm wondering if there's a real bug with the data stored in the database, how it's interpreted, or if it's a graphing error…

I believe for me when doing this running the configuration wizard after changing the machines name and joining it to the new domain fixed issues with the website.

In the interest of fun perhaps we should have a top 50 button too!

The answer is it depends... I don't need to manage with snmp directly all of the vmware guests. The API will give NPM a lot of info about the guests but it's pretty generic in a big picture of the the specific host kinda way like how many machines are on the esx, how much memory and cpu each has, what the machine names…
