Prof- I think people may have overlooked what you asked for... yes it only works on maps but it works for all kinds of things... any custom property... any predefined solarwinds variable. As an example when hovering over my nodes I get who to contact when there's a problem, the name of a laboratory, the locality…
-
Well since I've never heard of Centerity before I'd say that's one thing SolarWinds has going for it...
-
This thread shows the reference issue someone encountered:
-
@kevlray- I have done a lot of this and it works great. See this recent thread which might help: I have added custom properties to my hover over on object on my network summary map. It could also be a reference issue I've seen before where you may have to use something like ${Node.problem} to reference your custom property…

Also the additional webserver licenses are cheap compared to a poller!
-
Crazy thing... I'm getting this again on one of my systems! Orion Platform 2015.1.3, SAM 6.2.3, DPA 10.0.1, IVIM 2.1.1, QoE 2.0, NPM 11.5.3, NTA 4.1.2 Message Center just spins trying to select and eventually I get the website error webpage... ugh :^{

That sounds like the vSphere Management Assistant SHA-1 cipher problem maybe: vSphere Management Assistant 6.0.0.1

You could try: • T1 MIB (RFC1406-MIB)http://www.oidview.com/mibs/0/RFC1406-MIB.html • Cisco Integrated DSU/CSU MIB (CISCO-ICSUDSU-MIB)http://www.oidview.com/mibs/9/CISCO-ICSUDSU-MIB.html

Black Thwack - (T)echnical (H)ackers (W)ith (A)ll (C)riminal (K)nowledge Closely related to Black Hat but from the darker side of network management with pastimes such as sniffing snmpv1 RW strings etc.
-
Other people requested the 877's be added to the MIB file. I would download the latest MIB which your machine probably doesn't have yet and it's been updated since NPM 9.1sp3 came out: Download the zipped MIB and follow the procedure: To update your MIBs.cfg file:1. Navigate to your installation folder using Windows…

You could delete the Node Details view, then run the Web Configuration Backup tool and have it Merge (not Overwrite!) the "NetPerfMon Initial Configuration" file. This will give you a new view called "Node Details" with the default resource setup, but it will have a different view id number in the database. It may be…

FYI I tried searching on thwack for anything remotely like that error message and found nothing...

What I have done is create a new map with Orion Network Atlas. You can put your own custom background behind your map for your devices. I use a visio diagram saved as an image. They you can add different shaped leds within Network Atlas that can change status based on a device or if you right click on a led you added to…

Also on windows server depending on the version the firewall can re-enable itself... or even on some versions some things won't work without a ruleset of some sort. I've also see it get re-enabled somehow... You can also try to telnet to port 22 from the windows command line and see if there's any response at all. Checking…

I had something similar happen with an interface showing the peak utilization at 137%. I edited the node and forced the bandwidth for the interface to what it should be. It took what seemed like a few days but is now showing correctly in a top 10 avg. and max circuit utilization I have on a summary page. Immediately after…

From what i've seen the new Insight for ASA's is going to be awesome!
-
Also keep in mind that all the new ASA such as ASA5506-X and ASA5512-X have the integrated IDPS. I'm in the process now of trying to learn the Firesight VM to manage the IPS/IDS aspects of the new ASA's... essentially all our new ASA's are running Cisco version of sourcefire snort inside since Cisco aquired them.
-
I'm also curious about this what about devices connected through terminal servers (Cyclades) as well? I'm sure someone has done this somehow before. Can NCM do something like this?
-
Couldn't you export to a comma delimited file from the toolsets network monitor... and then import the file as a seed file into NPM's autodiscovery bulk import?
-
If it's not that difficult both would be nice. Then the question is would this be a global syslog setting either on or off for every forwarded syslog message? Didn't mean to suggest this as an answer.

There are multiple methods people have used:
-
Mine is definitely wrong. The point total on the list is also wrong. Only up by my profile in top right is my point total correct. It seems to be a bunchball problem if I had to guess.
-
I'm not positive but I think HP Bladecenter can be monitored through the CPQRACK MIB: http://www.oidview.com/mibs/232/CPQRACK-MIB.html
-
Sounds like it could be a bug then maybe since smoke_angus has the same problem.
-
smoked_angus is right what are the exact type of false positive you are seeing. I've used WPM myself some and have a small active license for it.
-
You can't really put an additional poller at remote location without anything else... it has to talk to the database and talking to the database over the WAN isn't really practical. You really need to either stack pollers in one main site and monitor everything remotely or use multiple instances.
-
versus doing it from the webpage you can from system manager when you list resources hit a few extra buttons: Select All Select All Volumes Select All Interfaces Select All Active Interfaces This may help some.
-
I believe theyare using: For servers (Windows, Unix, Linux, etc.), they use HOST-RESOURCES-MIB::hrProcessorLoad (1.3.6.1.2.1.25.3.3.1.2).
-
I'm not positive but this sound likes a bug in the version and if I'm not mistaken I seem to remember something like this with some 9.1 versions.
