New to NPM - want to auto-provision NPM from an external source

Hi,

A newbie to NPM and to these forums, so apologies if I've missed something. I want to automate NPM's polling from an external source. Are there any documented ways of doing this?

It would go something like this: new server installed on the network, discovered by (TBA), script fired to insert details into database.

Has anyone done this? Is it documented anywhere? Is it going to affect my support agreement?

I'm a little confused about what you are trying to do.  What exactly is your use case?  NPM does the polling and handles updating the database with information about the devices you add or discover.  Maybe if you can explain a little more clearly what you are trying to accomplish the community will be more than happy to do what we can to help.  :}

EDIT:

You can rdp into your NPM box and use a seed file to load your nodes into NPM if that's what you're getting at???
