Can you post a screenshot of your Getting Started page? What does it say next to "Virtualization"?
-
Hmm, OK. You should just be able to unassign/re-assign your ESX Hosts/Clusters from the Storage Manager agents and it should reapply the proper credentials. Go to Settings -> Manage Agent Assignments -> Cluster/ESX in the Storage Manager Web Console.

Hi Chris, I just checked your Customer Portal and the Virtualization Manager 6.0 download is there. Go to Newest Licenses->View All, find your VMAN license and click the green "Choose Download" button. Email me if you are still having trouble finding it.

Chip, Well, welcome to Thwack I agree that it's an unfortunate situation that caused you to stumble upon it, but hopefully its for the best. Thwack is THE WAY we communicate directly with end users about these types of situations. From Beta and RC Forums, Product Blogs (including some classics that describe the why's…

Hi Josh, Yes, it is misleading. It's a leftover from before the days of SRM Orion and got modified incorrectly. I'll address with the team. Thanks for bringing to our attention.

As mentioned in the blog post: Where will I see reports? * NetApp: From the NetApp console, under the NAS Shares tab, and the vFiler Files tab. * Celerra: From a Datamover console, under the NAS Shares tab. * Windows VM: From the VM console, under the Local Shares tab. * Reports: Dozens of predefined reports for shares,…

Yes, create a Directory Analysis Rule instead of a File Analysis Rule.
-
Yes, it should be. It does a table by table copy (backup) and MYISAMCHK before upgrading the tables to the new schema which is a lot of overhead.
-
Hi ssnider, Nope, I'm 99.9% sure that Storage tab should not be appearing for physical servers, so there is nothing to workaround. I'm not sure what's going on, but your best bet is to file a support ticket so we can get to the bottom of it. For anyone reading the thread, I am interested if anyone else is experiencing the…

Hi Jake, I just went into the Customer Portal and realized that IVIM in not in the VMAN downloads section. I'm working on getting that corrected. How urgent of an issue is this for you? The reason I ask is that we are about to release a Service Release RC for IVIM and VMAN in the next few days and it might be best to wait…

Hi Rick, Did you go and manually try to browse the shares with those credentials?
-
Do you use the "Bookmarks" feature at all? This feature is designed to help speed navigation to commonly accessed services and hosts. Just a thought that might help until we can improve the clients.
-
No worries. Thank you for your input, I will definitely make sure we look at this use case in detail for future improvement. Do you already have a Support case open for this? No need to open one if not, just curious so I can associate the request internally.
-
Ha, I guarantee it's covered somewhere in the docs, but I just built that table from information in my head for this reply :-) No worries - let us know if you have any other questions.

Hi dkeyser, Backup Profiler (BU) is another product that monitors your backup infrastructure. The bits for BU ship with STM and Storage Profiler, but the license keys dictate whether or not the functionality is enabled. BU is now EOL, but you do own a perpetual license of the software, so it's really up to you whether or…

Hi Byron, OK, sorry had to look into this a bit more. It is not generally possible for you to bridge two unconnected networks with the single VMAN appliance. However, VMAN has Federated Collectors. You can think of these as Orion pollers (there are some technical differences, but the mental model works), except that we…
-
Hi firechicken, There are no plans to implement this at this time.
-
Hi mharvey, Can you please create a Support case and post the ticket number back here? I need to get this Escalated internally with Engineering, but need a case # first.
-
Hi lfransen, Can you please post your support ticket # so we can run this down internally?
-
So we are actually querying behind the scenes for devices with Trespass LUN's in order to populate that list, which is why your DR VNX is not showing. If you create your report for "All Devices", the DR VNX should be included if it ever experiences a trespass LUN situation.
-
Hi eloyramirez, Are you know able to see the traps being generated?
-
Hi lukematthews, The team is actively investigating this issue and it's been scheduled for a future release. Sorry for the inconvenience and hopefully the workarounds are enough until we can get this properly fixed.
-
Storage Manager/Storage Profiler support for IBM XIV was added in version 5.1.
-
Hi jbiggley, How time sensitive is this request? If it can wait, a lot of that LUN/NAS information should be available natively on the Orion DB in the next VMAN release to support E2E integration with SRM. I would hate for you guys to go build a bunch of custom code querying VMAN now and have it "the easy way" in a bit if…

Hmm...that seems like it might be a bug. If the Celerra is being polled by the main STM Server, it should show up as a monitored device in the Health Status page under the STM Server. I'll check with the team on this case. Thanks!
-
I'm a little confused by what you're asking. AIX is a Unix OS, so are you saying that AIX and Linux are both not what you are looking for?
-
Hi simonp73, Currently, yes - you will get false positive alerts when these hosts get switched off due to DPM. We are looking at changing this in a future release, but I can't comment on when that might be available.
-
Sorry about that. Almost - vm.name:<insert search string here without <> > The "Advanced Search" button will help you build your search queries in case you run into these types of questions in the future.
-
Not sure if either of you have signed up for the Storage Manager Beta, but we've attempted to make this whole discovery process a lot better in the new version of the software. I would love your feedback! Find out more about the Beta and how to sign-up for the Beta here:…

Hi Roger, The AMS is currently supported in STM. We support this array via SMI-S, not SNMP. You can get Storage Manager from our website and start monitoring this array immediately. The HP P2000 MSA is on the roadmap, but not supported at this time. We do not require any MIB walks for these arrays, thank you for your offer!
