  • Hi BabaYaga, I do understand your frustration and definitely don't disagree that it's unfortunate for all customers of Blackberry's platform that they are unable to maintain their product and ecosystem going forward. They had a good thing while it lasted and their failure leaves a massive gap in the market for secure…
  • Alterego is correct. FYI - In the upcoming Beta for VMAN, we are working on a Datasource Synchronization Wizard to help get this setup correctly. There are several different things that can go wrong when trying to get matching environments polled between the two products (additional pollers, different credentials, ESX vs.…
  • Can you post a screenshot of the logical mapping report from Storage Manager for the VM you are trying to see in the Target View? It should look like this:
  • I'm assuming you mean that you switched it to poll from the vCenter instead of from the ESX host. Anyway, this case should be caught by the synchronization wizard between the two products. Let me know if you ever see this again, as I'd like to take a look at what's happening. This is one of the use cases we designed the…
  • This has been escalated to a technical specialist in the APAC support team. They should be able to assist you on your existing Support ticket. Please let me know if you continue to have problems.
  • I'll take your feedback into account in adjusting our processes in handling smartphone OS upgrades in the future. I am curious about point #3. There were several communication avenues that were attempted regarding iOS 7 development. As I mentioned in my initial response, an update announcing the Beta was posted on Thwack…

  • Hi Dale, As I expected, there is no way for you to manage this in the Customer Portal today. However, I think you could effectively do this through Thwack by signing up for Email Notifications in the Beta and RC Forums for the products you cared about. PM almost always posts announcements of new Beta's/RC's to these…
  • Were you able to get the right key in place?
  • Hi tmiller_hockey, Well, if you guys are a NetApp only shop for storage, you can install all on Orion now vs the legacy Storage Manager install: Dreams Come True - Storage on Orion is now in Release Candidate! Let us know if you have any troubles integrating the new SRM Orion Module and Virtualization Manager. The mapping…
  • Hi laverne97, We'd love to support VNXe; however, after recent intense investigation we've determined that there is no way to pull performance data from these devices. I'd be very interested to know if there is still interest from customers in seeing VNXe supported, but only providing capacity and configuration data? Due…
  • Hi alexander937 and dalelsw, NetApp Cluster-Mode support has now been added to the WWWO. Cheers!
  • Hi alexander937, Cluster-mode support is definitely on the roadmap, but unfortunately I can't give you any timeframes for support. I promise you, we are hearing feedback from many NetApp customers that echoes your own.
  • HI Dale, I do want to point out that even if we poll the provider more often than every 15 minutes, it is only updating its information from the array every 15 minutes. Effectively, by changing this agent setting, you are just increasing the agent checking for new info more often, which results in a NO_OP.
  • Hi cdekort, Let me know if and when that changes. I'd be very interested in getting a recording of this device type for our internal analysis.
  • I'm guessing that your individual agents monitoring ESX Host Resources haven't been updated with the new credentials. You can create a new VMware policy with the new creds and push the policy out to the monitoring agents or change the credentials individually. Policies can be configured from Settings and then Device…
  • Hi gildas declercq, Yes, you can modify the "Data Window Size" by going to the agent in question and clicking the "Configure" gear icon. When the Configure dialogue opens, select "show advanced fileds" and "*Data Window Size" will show up for each module. Note that the setting is module specific and not agent specific.…
  • Hi sankeyj, Let's take a step back - What do you want to accomplish? If it's integration between the two platforms - my prior answer guides you how to do that. If you need more discussion about how shared licensing works between the products, I recommend this blog post: Dreams Come True - Storage on Orion is now in Release…
  • Hi caglarisa, If you had an alert/trend built on that property, you can also use the "Time Travel" feature on the Environment Map to determine what VM's changed on a specifc host. Hope that helps!
  • Hi dancoh-betsson, I'll try to clarify some of the points: Can STM only get performance each 15min? This is limited by the SMI-S provider. We can query the data more often from the STM side, but the Provider's are designed to not affect array performance and only query new data from the array every 10-15 minutes.…
  • Hi sosystems, Do you get the same error message or a different message?
  • Hi Scott, Yes, you can add vm.name (or host.name or cluster.name) to the Search Query in "Scope" of the Alert Definition to only alert on certain machines. VMan is very powerful in allowing you to define those ranges. For each of the groups, you can then setup email addresses in the EmailTo field:
  • Thanks Cagri and maustin for your input! Please vote on the new Feature Request forum to make your voices heard! http://thwack.solarwinds.com/ideas/1298
  • No, that's reports. I was referring to creating File Analysis/Directory Analysis rules as mentioned in these Product Blog Posts: So you start by going to Settings->Files->Directory Analysis Rules. Once you've defined and saved your rule, you'll have to push your rule out to the agent via a Policy. The Policy should get…
  • Hi Selspiero, Good to hear you were able to find the issue with the syslogs. :-) On the search results, definitely a valid feature request. I'll see what we can do with schedules, etc. to see if that can be accommodated in a more customizable manner. As a potential workaround in the meantime, even though the default number…
  • Hi bharris, For a database that size, an upgrade can take anywhere from ~1-8 hours. The primary factor is how fragmented the database is and we've seen it vary greatly from customer to customer because of this. Sorry I can't be more specific.
  • We did it that way based primarily on how other users told us they use Hyper-V and want to see it inside of SolarWinds. Given conversations with end users, I don't believe that the majority of customers are using Hyper-V this way; however, I can understand how this presentation might be confusing given your mixed use of…
  • Hi rbx, At the risk of being annoying, why is it important to compare aggregated statistics across applications? Are these two similar applications and one is behaving badly?
  • Hi Brian, Unfortunately, I can't give timeframes; however, I am actively sorting through customer requirements for CDOT at the moment. I'll contact you offline to arrange a call to discuss.
  • Hi sevenup679, It would be useful to know, at which point does SRM tell you the arrays are "unreachable"? Is it able to connect to them in the "Add a Device" wizard, but then not able to poll them after they are added? Or are you not able to reach them even in the "Add a Device" wizard. If you're already polling them with…
  • Hi Tony, No, the Orion module is part of your original VMAN purchase - you do not need to purchase anything else to get this additional functionality. You can download the Orion Module from your Solarwinds Customer Portal.
