evalUser - there ais currently no way to control polling interval at the custom mib poller level. You can only control this at the node level. We will look to add this ability to a future release.

You should be seeing them come into the Traps and TrapVarBinds tables. You said you are seeing them show up in the Trap Viewer, correct?
-
the install log file goes to the APPDATA directory for the current user (by default this is C:\Documents and Settings\<user>\Application Data\Solarwinds). Make sure you have access to that directory.

Bryan, * Copy the section between the dashes into the clipboard. * Open Database Manager that ships with Orion and connect to your Orion database. * Select the ServicePorts table, right click and select New Query * Paste the script from the clipboard into the query field (overwrite the default query) * Change the radio…

hvits, Which web page are you on? Is this from within a NetFlow view on the website or from the Reports page? How many interfaces are you receiving NetFlow traffic for?
-
borgan, 9.5 only. Also, SP2 has been released which includes this fix, so no need for the hotfix any longer. If you are still on 9.1 it is going to be another issue. You should contact support for help.

We are looking into this (it was implemented at the request of a few customers and it appears we may have gotten it wrong). If necessary we will have a hotfix for this soon. In the mean time, the work-around is the one you have mentioned. Any other people having problems with this please speak up here so we know how…

The traps.asp problem is one we have found with upgrades. The work-around is to go into c:\program files\solarwinds\orion and delete the file TrapServer-Website.zip. Then rerun the website portion of the configuration wizard. This is a file we left sitting around by accident- it should be deleted on upgrade. It does not…

An Advanced Alert does not have a current value since it is not tied to a single value. This field is present for basic alerts only. Looks like we may need to make a similar concept available for advanced alerts, but it is not currently possible.

Yes.

Yes, opening a ticket with support will allow us to work with you to get more information.

It may be that the ActiveX control needs to be reinstalled on the client system. If integration is working but you are not seeing the NetFlow option then try "updating" the SWToolset.Engine from c:\windows\Downloaded Program Files. Make sure IE is closed at the time or it will prompt you to reboot since the file is in use.

Sounds like a bug. We will take a look. Thanks for letting us know.
-
Sounds like you deleted the database that was your SQL User's default database. Use SQL Management Studio to reset the default database for the SQL user account.
-
We have a work-around for this. We are working on a hotfix now. To get this working you need to run the following: <.NET framework 2.0 path>\regsvcs.exe -exapp -appname:"SolarWinds Orion NPM" "<path-to-NTA-folder>\NetflowCOMInterop.dll" For instance, on my system this is:…

Is this SP available for the eval versions? I'm in the middle of doing a complete re-install and I mistakenly ran SP3 on the eval server which caused it to die. When starting certain services, it says "License check failed", or something to that effect. You can get the eval version of the SP here:…

Malvado, I just replied to you on another thread before I saw this one. We are working on a fix for this now (this was a tricky one for us to find the issue). If the fix pans out it will be in SP2 (all I can say on the timeline for that is "soon"). As part of the final verification of the fix we may ask you (and others…

This functionality is available in the Monitor Polling Engines utility that ships with Orion.

Hello, Are there available releases like 'PollsPerSecondsTuning' or 'AdvancedNodeDetails' and so, especially made for this release or I should use the files from v8.0 release? thanks The v8.0 versions work with 8.1

byrona, This was fixed in Orion NPM 9.5 SP2. Can you verify that you are running SP2 by looking at the footer on your Orion website?
-
Yeah that is what I do when I have to upgrade or install software, but I'd like to use the Database Manager to see the different tables. Currently I have to log onto another system and start SQL Query Analyzer to look at the data. I'd like to use the SolarWinds product. I guess I could install SQL Query Analyzer, but that…

We are working on a fix for this one. We setup a dependency on SQL when the SQL instance is local and there are some issues with that right now.
-
breener96, Have you applied the hotfix referenced above? This should solve the alerting issue.
-
Debbi, what is the ticket number for this case?
-
I don't have NTA. Can the view.asp file be applied to Orion v7.8.5 to improve loading? No, this change takes the behavior of Orion views after NTA is installed and returns it to the pre-NTA implementation.
-
Sorry, I did not provide enough detail here. Yes, run it just like you tried the delete query. If you are using the Database Manager that comes with Orion, make sure you change the query to execute in read/write mode.
-
Try entering this URL directly while logged in as an admin: http://<server>/Orion/Admin/ This should take you to the admin page and let you modify the menubar

We are not aware of any issues with applying hotfix4. However, I do not think anything was done in hotfix 4 to resolve this particular issue. Also, if you ever do need to rollback a hotfix you go to Add/Remove Programs and choose to Change NTA, then select the Repair option. That will return you to pre-hotfix state.
-
EverestM, I just looked at your case and this issue should be fixed in version 8.5.1 released today.

For the issues that remain, please enter a support ticket so we can work with you to figure out the cause and a fix for this.
