Mark, In the Views table in the database, look for the row with ViewTitle="NetFlow Traffic Analysis Summary" and check the ViewType column. It should be "NetFlow Summary". We are looking into a bug where this is sometimes reset to "Summary" and that could be what you are hitting.

Mark, Shouldn't you stop all polling engines first? or at least stop the SolarWinds Trap Service... I have not tested this, but you should be OK not stopping the services for this one.

If your running your webserver on port 8080 (like I was) You need to call Support and change the web page to port 80, then manually change all custom views and custom links... Just my 15 hour experience... Other than that 8.1 is looking pretty darn GOOD jtimes, thanks for your help in tracking this down. Sorry we missed…

The HomepageViewID in the Accounts table corresponds to the ViewID in the Views table

Would it be possible to put more effort into the QA of the updates? I have yet to run any HotFix/SP that doesn't completely get hosed. Of the 8 pollers I run, I have to re-run the update at 5 times on half of them before they "take". (Right now, I'm trying to patch with SP2 and it simply does not work.) Will Will, Can you…

Grant, Since it supports HTML, you might try inserting your disclaimer as an iframe that loads another page.

Looks like there is a problem with the configuration of your additional web server. It is showing the "old" website. Please open a support ticket and include diagnostics gathered from the additional web server + the file c:\windows\system32\Inetsrv\Metabase.xml Once you have done this please post your ticket number here or…

We have isolated this to the Traffic History resource (an old resource from 1.0 that we removed in 2.0 due to performance). Try removing that resource from the view.

Are you getting any messages in the Last 25 NetFlow Events that says you are receiving flows from an unmanaged node? If so, the node not showing any traffic may be exporting flows from a different IP Address than the one you think it is exporting them from. If not, are you sure the correct node is selected as a NetFlow…

Also, we are working on a fix to this problem.

We have identified the problem and are working on a fix. The problem happens when a connection to the database is lost temporarily. The work-around for now is to restart the alert service after database connectivity is restored.

owais, You must have something strange going on. I can't tell from the information you provide here what may be going on. What do you mean "unable to capture the SNMP packet"? Is this when you are trying to add the servers to Orion?
-
It is safe to delete this file. It is just diagnostic logging.

If you don't have toolset integration turned on (or you are using Firefox), you will not see that link. In that case try this: * Add a Custom HTML Resource to the Node Details page * Edit this resource and add the following HTML: <a href='thwack.solarwinds.com/.../RemoteDesktop.asp Desktop to ${IP}</a> That will give you a…

You could be seeing a lot of traffic on ports that are not being monitored. Go into the Admin section on the website, then into NTA settings, then Application and Service Ports. From there you should see a new option in NTA3 to turn on monitoring of all ports.

Is there a way to change the path that the hotfixes are looking to install to? Some of my servers, I have it installed on c: and others I have it installed on d: and the directories are not always the same. The hotfixes read the install location for Orion from the registry (HKLM\Software\Solarwinds\Orion\Core\InstallPath).…

We are currently researching this issue. A few other users have the same problem. We will release a fix once we know what is happening. Thanks.
-
danasp, In step 1, did the zip file TrafficAnalysis-Z001-WebSite.zip end up in c:\program files\solarwinds\orion or some other directory?
-
Looks like we are having an issue with that number of routers. We will look into a fix for this. In the mean time, try changing the "Showing" filter from Cisco to "Exporters". This should narrow the list to just the routers and interfaces that are currently sending netflow traffic to NTA.
-
Released SP2 does not have the fix, so after upgrading and installing SP2 (included with the latest download) you will need to apply the hotfix.
-
nick.muller, Try this link to get SP2: ftp://ftp.solarwinds.net/Orion/ServicePack/Orion9.1-SP2.zip If that does not work for you then contact support and they will help you get SP2 installed.

This has been resolved by our staff. Outlook Express was not installed on the server. We remove unneeded applications from our server OS builds and since it wasn't obvious that Solarwinds required DLLs from the application, we didn't think it was needed. We attempted to reproduce this on a system installed without Outlook…

extraman, I cannot reproduce with Last 7 Days. Do you have more details on this?
-
Unfortunately we have not been able to reproduce internally. We are still searching for the cause, but no update yet on when this may be fixed.

A few people have hit this. We are working on a fix. Appears to affect nodes using a dynamic IP.

I am getting that same error, and none of my NetFlow data is displaying on the web interface. I dont know if its being imported into that database either not that I care. I just use NetFlow for realtime troubleshooting. I have a case open right now with support. I had to run the Diag utility and get it sent to the…

The most recent update released fixes this error in some cases. Have you applied this update ()? If it is happening with this update we will need to see ConfigurationWizard.log from the directory where Orion is installed. You can either open a support ticket or send it to me by private message.

Mike, Here is how you do what you are asking: * Create 2 table pollers with the Universal Device Poller, 1 for column b and one for column c. For both pollers choose column A as the row label. * Add the column B poller to the node details view * Go to the node details view and choose "edit" for the Tabular Data resource…

Custom Poller uses the same interval as the standard poller. Where are you seeing the poller interval of 30 minutes? Are there any…
