Firstly, I'd like to see this as either a: it's own canvas, or b: a toggle. I'd still like it accessible as a tab off of a node summary, though. Here's one concept, where you can effectively see the flow of the alert (and maybe when it's active as well). I picked a random existing map, because it would strengthen the…

rob.hock Duly noted. I would be happy to do so, is there a schedule for this call somewhere? Sadly we can't really run betas at the moment, we only have a production environment and don't really have a test/dev/qa. Our environment is also huge (2500+ nodes, 11k+ objects) , so it's not very friendly towards having a…

I'm really looking forward to this. I felt like last year, a lot of deep thinking was encouraged from word-a-day!

I believe catapults have a bit more of an arc than a forward trajectory per Hooke's Law, no?
-
I would agree, this is a crucial part of the tool and the only thing that separates it from running debug in a browser.

maria.bungau : my situation is a bit unique but was wondering if you'd be able to help: for the Friday question (today), I don't have access to sound at all. So, for future can you guys possibly look into captioning some of the shorter youtube videos? I was still able to answer the question. I'm asking for shorter videos…

That is one of the exact scenarios I've had happen too, jbiggley Another is when a report is modified, because there really isn't much for that right now (nothing currently). Said report works today and now tomorrow it doesn't? Not even a matter of focusing blame but I'd love to work with whoever changed the report so that…

I don't even know who handles this part of Engineer's toolset. stevenwhunt / cobrien any guesses?
-
you also still have the thwack forum and can always tag one of the geeks or someone else who absolutely will get you to the right folks. I know cobrien, stevenwhunt and jkuvlesk are probably beyond tired of me tagging them all the time but the employees at solarwinds such as those will help as best they can even if a…

I think you might want to edit/add a link to all the thwackcamp2016 stuff at the end of this post Might be helpful!
-
I concur. Thankfully on my last job the director was proud to show that there were things in the red, because it helped those on a tour understand that we were on top of what was happening.

No system should support this, this is a workaround for a lack of HTTPS. Maybe rob.hock should be alerted (batsignal!). Alert feature -> HTTPS post please!?
-
must suck for them, having to work with the backend provider on trying to get this fixed and taking so long

Bumping. Not sure who serena thinks should be notified, but this could be a great FR for NPM/NTA ties, etc. jreves

Similarly, I'd like to see this include SNMP and agent as option, but I wasn't sure if this needed a separate feature request so I created for that.

Toda sir, as always

zennifer any sort of zen networking concept has my support!

team's managing their own nodes can be done with a group as part of the account limitations. put what you want in said group and that's what they can manage. I'll do a write-up doc soon. that's separate from this FR, I would think- even for as important and needed an FR this is.
-
I hope this goes somewhere. It'd be nice to have a way to deal with that our nix team doesnt' want to create accounts on servers for audit reasons but is 100% okay with using an agent for permissions. Not needing ACL's = huge plus.

Yeah these are not exactly the most difficult questions so far this month; it helps to learn about their other products to see what else is available. I mean one was even a poll which you *can't* get wrong.

Same. I'm also happy that it also marks the EOS for Server 2008R2, because apparently I need to use that as leverage to upgrade.
-
I guess there will never be a concern for having a lanyard for a badge, huh?

I can agree with the idea here, but I think the message center (and everything under alerts & activities) needs a major overhaul/updates to support the current UX of later parts of NPM. It's clear these were taken from older modules and have not been updated since. It's not unlike how the manage groups page doesn't even…

Sure! We should totally set up a meeting with my cloud folks Unofficially they said it was being used to flag when stuff is being placed in maintenance/worked on/investigated. It made me think of it being a bit like a glorified comments field. However, they said some other applications we use rely on this tag to identify…

I'll absolutely be there. Time for fun!
-
I suspect it's not hesitancy, but I'm guessing more of priority/difficulty to implement. I'd probably wonder if cobrien or stevenwhunt can comment on this one?
-
Bump. Another example of where this becomes needed:
-
This reminds me I need to check the sql query for the top 10 errors and discards via hubble.
-
These are all accurate, and I feel I have encountered them continually in one form or another. The difficulty lies in those who don't want to hear the truth. It's like the matrix movie, a lot of people will take the blue pill and don't want to find how deep the rabbit hole goes (with the red pill). Comfort zones, etc. My…

This was put into a very early FR, . Which is being worked on, rschroeder
