cahunt, Ah, so you would like to be able to copy the entire view (all sub-views) or a particular sub-view. I think that would be great. I also think you should be able to copy a sub-view and attach it to another view similar to coping SAM components between templates. Derik Pfeffer Loop1 Systems www.loop1.com

I just worked with a Client that had made 50+ maps and was asked to modify them but couldn't edit them. Since they were created by another user, I had to create copies to make the modifications requested. This leads to having multiple maps for the same area of focus. Plus having to edit 50+ site Summary views to change out…

As 2018 moves forward, I have found myself also moving forward in the areas of SWQL and PowerShell. I have worked with SolarWinds products so a long time, but had other teammates that focused on the custom scripting and API areas. I have realized that as the product matures and it relies more and more on these areas to…

jblankjblank, Based on the latest round of Orion Maps features and functionality, is it safe to assume that Network Atlas is headed toward EOL? Thanks, Derik

All, Additional Polling Engine (APE) supportYou can now install Additional Polling Engines to IPAM. If you have a large number of subnets, adding polling engines can reduce the time it takes to scan your network. Use the Orion Web Console to assign a polling engine to scan individual subnets. The DHCP server properties…

I can't beat any of the above poetry, even with Netflow.

Same Here.. I almost thought I was going crazy until I saw I was not the only one..

I was working on a map that required the object size to be changed, however the links that connected objects stayed the same size and became almost invisible. Is there a way to have the links change size in proportion to the size of the objects it connects? Also, having the map auto scale to the widget window would have…

bhilgenkamp_botw, I has the ability to provide permissions on a per subnet level, so if you are looking for something other than full Admin. I usually use Custom, so you can hide some subnets, have view only on others, and full admin on a select few. Really any combination that fits the needs of the user/group you are…

All, It has been around for a while, but many Clients that I work with would like better reporting. Most would be happy with some enhancements around nDepth functionality that is already there. This would include better scheduling, export types, email templates. Best Regards, Derik Pfeffer Loop1 Systems: SolarWinds…

All, Today's question is very odd, as you have the choice to choose one answer, but according to the hint, there are several correct answers. I also got caught on what I thought was a type-o and selected an incorrect question. Best Regards, Derik Pfeffer Loop1 Systems: SolarWinds Training and Professional Services…

Rob, Are you also looking at sharing or presenting the sniffed traffic in raw format as well? This is something I have heard many times over the last 5 years of deploying SolarWinds Products. Best Regards, Derik

All, Does this mean by Sept. 2 which timezone. I was traveling overseas during the weekend and went in to answer the final question when I found the dreaded locked icon. Best Regards, Derik Pfeffer Loop1

newkidd2, As a work around, you can do this in SQL directly. Contact me if you would liek to see an example of this.. It would however be much easier for Admins to strip off the Domain extensions with an Additional Action in Node Mangement. I would include options for appending, updating, removal as options. I have been at…

aawi, Do you have the ability to add Custom Properties in your standalone instance? If so, I would use them over Node Groups for the flexible. These then can be used for executing scripts or scheduling jobs., etc.. Derik Pfeffer Loop1 Systems: SolarWinds Training and Professional Services * LinkedIN: Loop1 Systems *…

This would be awesome; I know some many Clients that have many different teams across multiple divisions or geo-locations, that with feature would help out so much.

I found that if you have the auto update via Geo-location and put nodes all over the world. We unchecked the option for auto update and went with the Custom Property Sync for Lat/Long to Lat(WorldMap)/Long(WorldMap) for correct positioning. However, before we could get there, we had to manually delete each and every…

I have not had a chance to see the new web integration, but I would like to see that the ability for remote console, remote desktop, telnet, ssh, etc.. type of connectivity be added, so you could go from Monitoring to Actions on that platform. Best Regards, Derik

I believe it is all 4, as Vendors and Hardware are imperative to maintaining compliance as they can be point of intrusion. This is why it is so difficult to be complaint, as everyone or Organization has a different spin or slant to how to be compliant for security. Best Regards, Derik Pfeffer Loop1 Systems: SolarWinds…

rschroeder, I couldn't agree more.. I would also like to see them for Groups as well. We use Groups for various purposes but are a critical part of the Dependency model. I have seen Clients with 100s - maxing out the number of Groups allowed in Orion. Best Regards, Derik Pfeffer Loop1 Systems: SolarWinds Training and…

I like all of these items.. It would nice to incorporate some of the SAM Linux/Unix/AIX script options as the native data collection for these systems vs. using the same old SNMP method that doesn't provide much and people have a hard time configuring especially using SNMPv3.
