I posted this elsewhere, but will add to the voices. Having to send our mibs to a vendor for them to compile is a HUGE waste of time. There needs to be ways to import our mibs in to these solarwinds tools. I am in the process of migrating from Whatsup to Orion, and already have come up with this problem. There are some…

I have seen this for things like "email alert", "email url", its really hit and miss. Most of the time, I will leave the filter to "Entire Site".

Support verified that the autodetection is busted. They filed a bug for us.

Will the next version have more flexibility to configure devices via the web interface, instead of me having to give FULL console access to someone that doesnt need it for any other softwar we use?
-
I am new to Orion, and have installed this poller. I think I have it assigned to our ASA5520, but I dont know how to get that section added to the veiw. I looked at the custom view options but didnt see it. Any tips for a noob?
-
thanks. I should have realized that. Just looks like they tweaked it in SAM, since it comes in a canned resource I can add to a node detail page. not enough coffee this morning!
-
Can you elaborate a bit on the "variotions options enabled"?
-
Ok. thats what I thought. I must have something misconfigured. We lost a circuit last night, and the system sent us quite a few emails, instead of one for the parent node - EVERYTHING under that node triggered an email. I my groups, I have a Parent switch (say a Cisco 6509). As child NODES to that group, it could have 5-6…

I am not wanting to hijack the thread, but I would like to be able to selectivly show trunk ports vs access ports. Since most of my network is trunked, alot of reports will show the same mac or ip on not only the end point switch, but all switches back to the core. In some cases, we may have 5 swtiches trunked up, and I…

We did some database management to start. there was a couple of issues there, that seem unrealted, but it seems to have cleared up the issue.
-
I created case #265353 this morning. Thanks.
-
No - you cannot change the status from SNMP or MWI to ICMP. Once a node has been added, you will have to delete it to change the polling methods.
-
Nice request. We can view that data when we manually run the switchport mapper, so it would be a good addition to UDT!
-
does not help me - that setting was already unchecked. This just recently started, probably with the 10.7 upgrade.

I asked in another thread, but Ill ask here as well - how can we manually import policies to the DB? (not create a new one - but import one from the content exchange?)
-
sorry for the delay - too many projects. That worked out perfectly. Thank you so much.

Thanks Scott. Seems to me thats a lot of work to do for something that should be included as part of the package - but I will give it a shot and see if we can make it work for us.. now, to edit the 20 or so alerts that we have..
-
I create the email using thier editor, then cut/past into Notepad to play with the formatting, then re-paste it back into the Alert manager.. These forums have a better editor than the alert manager, and I think thats just wrong..
-
is it possible to have this displayed on the page, so the average manager that looks at it does not have to call if they forget the meaning?
-
Just remember (yeah, bit late on the reply).. this is a SYSTEM WIDE change.
-
can you show me an example - because all the tags I tried come across as written.

Good call. Sent from my HTC on T-Mobile 4G LTE

YES PLEASE. We have invested ALOT of my annual (maintenance) budget to Solarwinds products, and this is a area that will cause me to find another vendor if it is addressed very very soon. Please, for the love of everything IT, review the forums. These are features/enhancements that have been ignored for many years by…

I was creating an interface chart to watch a particular ports errors/discards. With SNMPv3, I wasnt able to pull the interfaces. When I switched it to v2c, it worked like a champ. (Workspace studio, gadgets, interface table)

Sorry for the delay. Yes, just that it completed. I havent used the script monitor yet, so Ill have to experiment with that. Thanks.
-
hate to bring up a dead topic - but.. I am setting up a new install of NPM, and the ONLY thing we want to keep is the maps. Is there any way to just export the DB tables and re-import them into the new Database?
-
Can this be used to monitor wildcard certificates too?
-
I must agree with Jeffnorton here - while its a nice "feature", its incomplete - it does NOT take into account the actual part number - here is an example - I have 15 ASA5505 firewalls in the field that we montior. The part number can be anything from "ASA5505-bun-k9" for the most generic, to "ASA5505-UL-BUN-K9" for a…
