  • I dont have access to an apple device, but for my Motorla Cliq Titanium, my agent shows to be "Mozilla/5.0 (Linux; U; Android 2.1-update1; en-us; MB200 Build/ERD79) AppleWebKit/530.17 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/4.0 Mobile Safari/530.17" I have asked the guys that have iphones and ipads to forward me what they get. Side…
  • I do not have the VARIATIONS tab on my device. is there a way to enable this? the Device type is "Cisco.Wireless.Lan". I don't see any way to enable this. (BTW - we use the Cisco 5508 Wireless Controllers - and this device type does not have it listed specifically).
  • Thanks Andy. My schedule has returned to some sort of normalcy, so I will be spending some serious time looking at tweaking these alerts this week. The mail thing really gets me tho - such a simple thing, and its the biggest pain I have with our install. Looking forward to your findings.
  • I will add my name to this thread as well - this is a biggie for me. We have alot of syslog data that would be perfect for a "unified" alerting engine - we dont use many rules on syslog alerts yet because its such a hassle to have to manage different alert console depending on what you want to alert on. Solarwinds Staff -…
  • Well when I try and build the page and when I look at it this is what I am getting I am also getting this. I ran this query: select syslogseverity, count(*) from syslog where (SysLog.DateTime >dateadd(month,-1,getdate())) group by syslogseverity order by syslogseverity desc and do get data returned. Could it be the way i…
  • Thanks. the update seems to fix my issue. :)
  • nope - still behaves this way by default. There should be a configuration setting in the admin interface (or anywhere else) where we can TELL UDT what to "count" as a port. VLANS SHOULD NEVER BE COUNTED AS A PORT IN UDT.. you cant plug a cable into a VLAN, you plug a cable into a PORT.
  • There we go.. I forgot we could do that! thanks!
  • it seems my issue now is simply getting the IP address for the node to pass to my scripts. So, I am building an advanced alert as a "Apm: Component" because I am wanting to monitor the HTTP response (read - does port 80 respond, or time out?). If the alert is triggered, I need to pass the IP address to a script to fix the…
  • As far as being able to create a NPM log event from Syslog - Yes - that would be a great feature additon. There are other issues with the syslog/snmp trap log that need to be looked at to (like being able to highlight a existing message, and generate a rule based on it with one click, rather than having to maually generate…
  • Ok - but if we are not using IIS.... some the sites I use are Tomcat/Apache based.. Thanks. Doing a scan now for them.
  • Thanks for the info. My SQL guru is out today. Ill try to catch up with him tomorrow, and see if we can figure this one out.
  • Adding custom properties is how I get around this. I added 4 fields to the Interface tables - A bit more legwork up front, but makes things SO much easier when you get that page a 2 in the AM to call in a ticket.. All the info is right in the email. Service Provider SP Phone Circuit ID Notes
  • I am not having much luck getting this to work, but it could be because I just do not really know exactly what I need to do. I am still looking at it, but I think I have the UDP set correctly - now to figure out what "option" to put on the nodes detail view. We have a couple of Western Multiplex Tsunami Wireless Bridges…

  • Please - Link us the documentation on what is REQUIRED in our CCO logins - and perhaps a way to "upgrade" this? Seems like we are having to jump through too many hoops for this tool to be worth it - at least, it is to me.
  • Its all good. Im sure you guys are busy, just like me
  • curious - did you generate the API key? if you did, where do you add it to Orion so it knows how to connect? I only see a cli option that uses a normal password, not the api key.
  • It is very odd that when I search for my PC (via Static IP), I get some very odd results. (NPM 10.1.3, UDT 1.0.1 - licensed) All Connection Types - shows switches/devices I know my computer is NOT connected to (like buildings on the other side of town) Direct Connections - No results (expected - all our PC's are behind…
  • AS newkidd2 stated, looks great in report writer when I test it, but I also get the Missing field notice when saving. Im not a SQL guy, so I dont know how to rebuild your query to add the missing NodeID
  • Yes, Bshopp is correct - ${AcknowledgeURL} is now availble. I would love to change the text is shows.. When I add it to my alerts, I get an very unprofessional looking "to ack this alert click here". Would be thoughtful of the devs to allow us to edit the link text.. or did I miss something?
  • Alterego - first, thanks for all your contributions to the community over the years. You have really helped alot of us out. Now - I am in a similar situation - we have a seperate install of NPM and SAM. Most of my node data is already duplicated, but I am more interested in the Monitors and alerts portion of the…
  • To ALL active customers, or only those that signed up for a beta or something? I haven't seen an email yet.
  • Put my name on that list as well. I am beginning to see a need to monitor the traffic of my VPN users from time to time.
  • hm. I dont remember ever being able to do that, and I have been using Orion since version 8.
  • I am also seeing things like this. With 2000 phones on my wire, it would be nice to be able to tell how this info gets polled. From a Cisco standpoint, at least in my world, we have a seperate data vlan and voice vlan. The switch knows which mac is on which vlan, but UDT doesnt. Sometimes, I get pc addresses showing up in…
  • Nope. the email editor for advanced alerts does not support/allow for any formatting.. I have fought with this thing till im blue in the face.. A friggin TAB would be GREAT to have, but alas - it is apparently not on the hot list for the devs.. Same too - Advanced alerting is awsome, but the email editor is holding it back.
  • Lets add my name to the "Me Too!" list on this.

  • disreguard.
  • I am really disappointed in this product. Guess I should have done a more detailed eval. Feel like I wasted money here.
  • did you ever get this resolved? I know for us, I had to change my default settings on how configs are downloaded (i think i have mine set to use SSH auto right now). I saw this once before.
