Beat me to it, Sorry though you did ask for an easy way, but in simple terms you drag maps onto a map the same as you do with nodes.

Having upgraded today and not knowing about this problem which has also cause me some problems. So Please either release SP1 with this fix in ASAP or if SP1 has to wait for other things to be added then a hot fix just to resolve this problem would at lease be a start.

For the information asked for my Windows 2003 Server running Orion is running all Orion Servers including Syslog and Trap Services. However it is not running SQL as that is on a seperate box. I see how this is only going to cloud the issue as there seems to be no instances the same.

I do not think it is the SQL as I have a Windows 2003 Server SP 2 running SQL Server 2000 with no issues. However it is not running IIS. The strange thing here is I have one server where this was not working but have not had the time to lookat it yet (Windows 2003 SP2) and this is only running IIS as the aditional Solarwinds Web Service, However it is also a domain Controller. There might be something in that.

Must have been a long week, All working fine now, it was the confusion of having two Orion Directories one in the Web directory and the other in the Program Files directory. You guessed it I put it in the wrong one. Thanks and a great piece of work.

There is still a problem if you are using the DirectLink Account.

Thats good yes it does fix it for reports but there is still no access to use these custom fields in limiting a user account to what they cae see. I have one entry for which I can use but cannot see any of the other custom fields.

I can only say I think it depends on how you buy your products. Our Supplier has just done that, both consolidation to one account and making everything expire at the same time. For us this happened about two years ago. IT can be done

I upgrade my system last week and had the same problem. I have raised a ticket with Solarwinds Ticket No 31667. Solarwinds are aware and working on the problem. Hope this helps. David

I think Orion should add a feature like this to the product, but it should also go one step further and be a proper aduit trail. This did indeed come in in ver 8.5, but a God send where you have a large node base across lots of vendors. However I see no reason why SW can not give the customer a choice and make it a selectable option. Then it would suit more people.

I will be intrested to here more about this as I was due to upgrade to 8.5.1 last week. The only reason it did not happen was that I became unavailable to do the upgrade. I am now looking to do it in the next couple of weeks. Good luck in finding the solution. David
