I'm not near my VM at the moment, but I believe if you attempt a copy and "paste special" - you may get a better result. HTH

Roophus, If you have 2 different IP's on the 2 NIC's - then this would be expected. The Polling Engine IP Address would not get changed dynamically - and a restart of the services would be in order. Thanks for the heads-up on the support line - I will investigate. David

Rubber Tire - Post your Case # please and I'll assist. Thanks, David

Also - have you tried to change the subnet you are discovering? i.e. breaking it down to individual class c's instead of 255.255.240.0?

Cereal83, Can I ask what version of NPM you are running? I've seen this a couple of times in the past, but not recently. Thanks,

Please open a Support ticket and they will help you out. Thanks, David

You should be able to go all the way to 9.1 SP2 (9.1 then apply SP2) Let us know if you have any issues. Thanks!

The 4300's are being properly backed up, just in case you were wondering. The machine type seems to still be an issue; I'm working internally to get that OID updated. Thanks!

There would be no easy way to integrate as your IPAM standalone and the primary web console (assuming NPM, etc) have 2 separate databases. In the Orion suite - the only true way to integrate is to install on the same server, using the same database. The only other option would be an imbedded link or URL to map to the other…

Or several matching patterns... Node name is equal to, or contains, etc...

I have seen a similar issue with executing an external program from Advanced Alerts... Let me dig into this a bit further and get back to you. Thanks, David

BMG, Do you have a support ticket open? I will take a look at it for you.

Borgan and others - Yes, the time synchronization between the Orion Polling Engine and the Database Server can indeed cause issues (Most notably the Polling Engine Status in the Admin section of the web console) - Will continually show "down" or "warning" and have the "Last Database Update" off by the seconds or minutes of…

It's possible, albeit a pain, but possible to unmanage the "old" switch and rename it to keep the historical data... and when you add the "new" switch, it will collect as designed. That way if you needed to refer back to the "old" switch, you could. Again, I realize this is not optimal, just thought I'd chime in.

Looks like this is a known issue - Thanks, David

There are some previous discussions here: Hope they help, Thanks, David

NinjaNerd56, In the "Manage Views" in the Admin section of the Web Console - Check the View you are using for Application Node Details - We sometimes see "Specified Cast is not valid" when there are no valid resources biult within the view. Was this a result of an APM Upgrade? Thanks and let us know if this helps - If not,…

You can bring up the database manager, double-click on the nodes table and run a query. (If you have more than 1000 nodes - change the default query accordingly) Then under File - click Export - and it will give you choices on how to save it (xls, txt, etc) - and also give you the choices on which fields you want to…

I'm pursuing this internally. Thanks, David

Aynov, When you run through the configuration wizard - connect to the database with Windows Auth or a SQL SA priviledge login. When you get to the SQL Username / Password - Create a NEW SQL Username. Default is SolarWindsNPM - so an example would be SolarWindsNPM2, but this could be whatever you would like. After…

SAM does not support interfaces outside of Windows Servers (via WMI) You would need NPM to monitor bandwidth on interfaces. HTH, David

Perhaps the SNMP Server IP Address in the Cisco routers is only pointing to the old server IP, and not the new server IP? Just a quick random thought - hope this helps. David

This sounds extremely environmental. I suggest a repair on the NPM installation in add/remove programs. Reapply the latest SP Attempt your Alert Actions again. If these steps do not help - and you have active maintenance - please open a support ticket. Thanks and HTH, David

Strange indeed - I'd have to say I've never seen this before... Having said that - I'd have to believe it was settings related in IE. Is this happening on multiple pc's? If it's just one pc - I'd suggest going into the IE settings and "defaulting" the main settings, and the advanced settings to see if the error continues.…

billconti: This is most likely attributed to the left pane in the System Manager being "closed"... If you click the left gray bar in the left margin and pull it open - you should find all your nodes...

rdmott, This is a known issue - and we are working on a resolution. Sorry I don't have more encouraging news to report. Thanks

The best method for this would've been to upgrade 8.x to 8.5.1 SP3 (bits available from Support) - then upgrade to 9.1 SP5 with no backup/restore necessary... The upgrades added tables and modified pointers etc - so what you're experiencing is exactly what I would've anticipated. If you have backups and can restore back to…

You can definitely set it up to be alerted when they are down... Page/Email, etc... But a random email to say "everything is OK" is a rare request... Unless someone else has a way they do this, I'd say configure your critical node down alerts to notify you immediately..
