I'm seeing the same issue with NPM 9.1 and APM 2.0 SP2.

I have it installed on a Hyper-v VM in a clusterd scenario. This is the front end only though. It's backended on SQL 2005 Enterprise.

Just sitting there with PerfMon doing a few basica tasks and the disk read/write queues barely get about 5 so would mirrored vs. RAID10 really be an issue in this instance? I wouldn't think so with that little activity. Before upgrading to NPM 9.1 the website performance wasn't the greatest but generating reports and such…

And 3650s/3750s. Yes, it rather took me by surprise, but I inherited this network. We were all Foundry for access level switches at my last job. This place is small. There's no true core switch.

You enter it into SMS (SQL Management Studio).

That is how it is/was setup on the scheduler.

A quick followup on this solution. If you don't have control of DNS you could also make a host entry with the old server name on the machine itself. Be sure to document that though. I'm not a fan host entries, bu tthey can be useful in certain situations.

Apparently it helps if I edit the correct file! Doh! :)

That's more what I was after was RAID 0/1/5/10 etc. I run the web front end and polling engine on a hyper-v VM (Win2K3 R2 SP2, 4GB RAM, 2 virtual procs), and the SQL backend is SQL 2005 Enterprise SAN attached. I'm only monitoring about 800 total objects though between NPM and APM and I don't use netflow because the Cisco…

A quick and dirty solution is to either add a CNAME or another A record in your DNS with old name if you're using the server name in your alerts. Just a thought.

Hmm, doesn't work for me. It did at first, now it doesn't. Support ticket open. Awaiting response. Actually I've been trying to get this fixed for a week now.

Mars, yup, that worked Thanks! Hopefully a fix for that is forthcoming.

Thanks for the links, ecklerwr1. After reading it looks like this is normal behavior for NPM if you decide to rename a node. Good to know. It's not like this is an everyday occurence. I'm cleaning up a network, which includes a (new) standard naming scheme. We weren't monitoring these devices before. After adding them I…

"Anyone? Anyone know the effects? It did not work, and the United States sank deeper into the Great Depression. Today we have a similar debate over this. Anyone know what this is? Class?" :) Thanks, James

What's the disk configuration?

One issue with a scheduled custom report. First I fixed the custom properties issue (update report schema). The report generates just fine however the scheduled job pukes with an ASP.NET event ID 1309, event code 3005: unhandled exception. Event code: 3005 Event message: An unhandled exception has occurred. Event time:…
