I know we had some issues with some older Cisco ASA software release versions where interfaces were being reported with the wrong indexes in flows preventing us from mapping them in Orion. That's correct. Dev has verified that this is due to prompt detection. When sending the macro commands, there is no prompt after each command so NCM waits to timeout before sending the next command. We didn't do any specific testing on Windows NT, so this isn't an officially supported platform. However, that doesn't mean it doesn't work. If Windows NT supports the HOST-RESOURCES-MIB, it should work. The easiest way to check to install the Windows component for SNMP and try polling it.

You can edit the device templates, but you'd need to set the prompt to the device name (e.g. 5509). This means you'd have to have a device template per device if the prompts are just the device name. NCM needs some way to detect that the login succeeded. If changing the prompts is possible, that seems like the easier route.

Right, so it really depends at how granular your forensic investigation needs to be. For example, if your analysis needs to be at the hourly level, you can look at this level of granularity until it rolls up into daily data.

Ciag, you might try restarting the NCM Polling Service (which also updates our policy cache) to see if that fixes this issue. Also, if you're not on the latest versions (5.1), I would suggest upgrading.

For the Orion-Cirrus integration, that is certainly the thinking. However, we still need to provide a standalone Cirrus website for those customers who haven't yet realized the tremendous value of having both Cirrus and Orion ;-)
