Yes, you'll need to modify the associated device template. Currently, regardless of whether you select startup or running, it always downloads the running config.
-
What version of traps are you receiving? Currently, ipMonitor only supports SNMP v1 traps.

Understanding that Cirrus can leverage Active Directory for user account authentication and password management, what does this mean? This means that Cirrus will leverage the AD credentials of the user logged into the server to authenticate to the Cirrus console. Cirrus simply leverages the token created by a Windows…

You can check the following registry key: [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\SolarWinds.Net\Configuration Manager] "HotfixVersion"="SolarWinds Orion NCM 5.0 SP1" "ProductDisplayName"="SolarWinds Orion NCM 5.0 SP1" In future SPs, we plan to update the footer of the website like in Orion NPM.

Here's a workaround that may work for you: 1) Remove the NCM link - In NPM Admin area, edit your account and scroll down to section titled "<your account>'s Network Configuration Manager Settings". Choose "none" for default view. The NCM link should disappear 2) Add NCM as menu bar item - In NPM Admin area, click Customize…

What is the interface utilization you see on our WAN/LAN Gbps interfaces? 1 Gbps = 0.125 GB per second 0.125 GB/s * 60 s/min * 60 min/hr = 450 GB/hr possible (assuming 100% utilization) This of course doesn't take into account any overhead and that fact the interface probably isn't fully utilized, but it's certainly seems…

Not today, but our plan is certainly to make more and more capabilities from the desktop application available in the web console with each release (as evidenced by 5.0 and now 5.1). I'm curious, is this the highest priority item you'd like to see made available from the web console or are there other actions/operations…

As noted in this post, the following Trap features have been added in v10 (I've highlighted the ones relevant to your post): * Using the standard Orion ${vbName1} and ${vbData1}variable format,, trap variable binding names and value pairs are now available as alerting and message variables. * The Trap Viewer now allows you…

Can you post the session trace? See this post for how to do this:
-
Since they are currently separate websites, you'll need to run NCM on a different port (e.g. 9443)

The Kiwi Syslog Web Access component uses SQL CE (to ensure ease of install and configuration), which has a limit of 4GB. We automatically roll older data out as needed. There currently isn't a way to point Web Access to a full SQL server, but this is something we're looking at. If you need the ability to view older logs…

hrcarvalho, thanks for posting! I'll get these up in the content sharing zone for you.

The messages you described are NOT related to the SolarWinds TFTP installer. They appear to be related to Windows Auto Update messages. I would check your Windows Auto Update settings. You've likely configured updates to be installed on reboot.

Thanks for the feedback. We'll definitely look at this. For internal folks, this is being tracked as #988

There's this template: You might be able to modify to backup .ucs instead of the .conf file.

3. In NPM or IPAM create a node lookup that will allow me to look for a device by IP, mac or host name that queries the NCM arp table to come up with the name. This is another netdisco feature that I miss greatly. We're working on this as we speak, so stay tuned. See this thread for more details of what's been discussed:

ScottL, we'd be happy to work with you to get SSH up and running on your Dell devices. To start, it would be helpful if you could post a session trace for the SSH download on those devices: 1) In Cirrus console, navigate to File > Settings > Session Tracing to enable session tracing 2) Perform an SSH download on the…

I'd be happy to work with you on the creation of a template. Can you list all the commands and screen navigations that must be executed to download the config via TFTP?
-
What version of Cirrus are you running?
-
Try the credentials you use to login to the NCM desktop client application (e.g. Administrator <your password>). Let me know if this works.
-
What version of Cirrus are you running? We had some issues with Config Change Reports which were addressed in 4.0.1:
-
There's a chart in the NCM web console and NCM integration module that shows if you have devices that conflicts between startup and running config. If you drill down on the chart, you can see which devices are in conflict.
-
Please open a support ticket on this issue. I'm not sure why that would be the case.

Thanks for the post. These are all excellent ideas, but some of these (e.g. web interface) may be out of scope for CatTools which is intended to be a desktop config management tool. The good news is we already have an enterprise-class solution that meets many of these requirements called Orion NCM. If you have a chance,…

I've captured this one. Just FYI, if there is some property (custom or otherwise) that you can use to do a "Group by" on, you can select the group in the devices list and then select "edit multiple nodes" to change in bulk versus one at a time.

I was a IPMonitor 8.01 user, and my V9 upgrade has been a bit rough. Sorry to hear that. I think once you get up and running, you'll find all the new features (groups within groups, smart groups, dashboard, network maps, etc.) well worth it! It appears that I cannot just "add a monitor" to a group anymore, I have to add a…
-
Also will this feature be added to NPM at all or even combined with the mapping functionality as it would add a great improvement to the NPM product? Yes, we're working on topology in network maps. We are also working on adding switch port mapping capabilities to NPM (delivered through NCM integration module), so please…

Smart Traffic Optimization: We've found based on several packet captures that 95% of the traffic volume may be represented in a little as 4% of flows. This means if your primary use-case for traffic analysis is to get visibility into the Top talkers, you're storing a lot of unnecessary data in your database (impacting DB…

Unfortunately, this is not possible because (as you discovered) all copies will look for the single registry key for settings. This is not changeable.
