tbaggins, thanks for the post. I'll contact you separately to setup a time for a follow-up call.

Thanks everyone for keeping the feedback going. Just to make sure we're on the same page, can everyone clarify what remote administration means to you? For example, is it: a) The ability to have a multiple remote Cirrus consoles that use the same database AND leverage a central server to execute all config mgmt…

Ah, right. What I described only applies if the config transfer is initiated by the standard NCM config upload and download operations. If you run a script, NCM doesn't know that you're trying to initiate a TFTP transfer. Is there a reason why you aren't using the standard NCM transfer operation for downloading configs? If…

Thanks for the response vhcato...this is good feedback! Are others in the same boat as vhcato or do you have a differing requirements?

NetFlow Configurator uses SNMP set commands to configure NetFlow on your router. Can you access addresses outside of your public address range with other SNMP-based applications? Perhaps your firewall is blocking SNMP requests?
-
Along with the question above, it is also possible to have one NPM server forward a syslog or trap message to the other NPM server that I could then call the configautodownload from? I don't want to have to send all the logging information to one server. I would like to only send the needed information for a RTCD. NPM can…

Yes, this should be fixed in 5.1

Ken, I've sent you an email offline. I'd like to understand your use-case better and then we can decide how best to move forward. Then, I'll close the loop with the rest of the community as appropriate.

Great. I've got you on the list.

Have you tried modifying an existing template to use the / commands to try to get this to work? There are instructions for modifying the template in the admin guide. It's unlikely that we'll do this in house any time soon because we've only received the one request, but I'm willing to work with you to help you create on…

We believe we've addressed this issue in 5.1. If you're are willing to help test this fix using the 5.1 beta build (on a separate machine from your 5.0 production install), please send me a private message.

That sounds like a great workaround. Does this scheduled task run a script or batch file? If so, can you please post the details of how you implemented.

This is very high on our list. I think you'll be happy with the "what we're working on" post once we get a chance to update it post 10.0 release - please stay tuned.

For folks experiencing this issue, how long is your password?
-
The issue is that NCM is waiting for the prompt to be echoed. Because you have SSH'd into a different device in the DownloadConfig command, it doesn't know that the prompt has changed and therefore times out and discards the config. The RESET command allows you to specify a series of commands to switch context and the…

This possible using a script: service-module service-engine 0/0 session ${Username} ${Password} show run But, this is not possible using device command template because this requires 3 levels of authentication: inital login, enable mode login, and service-module login.

For the folks experiencing this issue, can you provide your exact reproduction steps? E.g. What specific NCM executable did you run (integration module or server)? Did you install it on your Orion NPM server or your NCM server?

Thanks everyone for you interest in the APM BETA program!! We've reached capacity for the program and won't be able to accept any additional participants at this time. We won't kick off this program for another couple of weeks, but I will be contacting everyone on this thread. FYI, our plan is to start with a web-based…

You'll want to select a property and select "Resource-based" from the drop-down. You can use "Last-Value Minimum Threshold" and "Last-Value Maximum Threshold" to update the memory fields you referenced. Note, these are generically named because all resource monitors will have these threshold values.

This is a bug and is fixed in 5.1. Sorry, will be fixed in 5.1.

We've definitely got this on our roadmap. For internal folks, this is being tracked as #3216 in the NCM project.

Yes, it is safe to install. Firefox 3.0 was released so we did a minor update for browser compatibility with our mapping component.

We've fixed the issue with saving the "Use Windows Logon" setting in 5.1, which will be released VERY soon. On the session timeout issue, you can change this setting by taking the following steps: * Open <install dir>\InetPub\SolarWindsNCM\web.config * Search for "timeout" * Change from 15 to a value of your choosing HTH.

Using "^" at the beginning of the regular expression makes it always start at the beginning.

Did you install your NTA module on the additional website as well?

With report scheduler, you can email a web page in an email. So, if you're getting what you want from a NetFlow page, that might be the simpler/easier option for you.
-
Make sure that you have "Both" selected at the top of interface details. It may be that you have selected Egress or Ingress and there is no traffic to report on flows in that direction.

Can you check to ensure that the Orion NCM Polling Service is running? Also, please note that with 5.0, you can perform rediscovery through inventory by going to File > Settings > Inventory and checking box next to System Information.
