Just to clarify, if you have an old Secure Tunnel support contract, you're eligible to contact support. If you using the free Secure Tunnel, then this is the right forum for troubleshooting. Can you please post your diagnostic logs from both the client and server?

Vic's answer is spot on. To his second point, we're are already in planning on how we can make a common security and data model a reality for a 2009 release.

Those are still high priority enhancement requests for our next release.

Good news! You can do this today using the Exchange Server Monitor, since it contains those server performance counters. Go to devices tab, select server you want to monitor these performance counters on, and select Add Monitor. Choose Exchange Monitor, but don't enable Exchange queue counters. Enable other counters as you…

For the 2950, to troubleshoot, can you try going to the Devices tab and selecting Add > New Device and attempting to add it again? It should give you the option to leverage previously discovered monitors or rescan. Try rescanning to see if the interface monitors show up. You can go back and enter other community strings to…

Just to clarify, there are multiple components to an Orion installation: 1. Primary Orion server 2. Orion additional pollers / websites 3. Orion DB (SQL Server) #1 and #2 above are absolutely fine to run on VMware. In fact, we have thousands of customers running in that exact configuration. Where you run into trouble is…

What version are you upgrading from? MSDE hasn't been supported since 4.0. If you need help in upgrading from an older Cirrus version running with MSDE, please open a ticket with support and include the details of your post.
-
Sure, you can find them here: www.solarwinds.com/.../releaseNotes.htm

I'm not saying this precludes us from adding this type of topology information to Cirrus as well, but have you checked out LANsurveyor or Toolset Switch Port Mapper which both provide detailed topology mapping. LANsurveyor offers the ability to automated switch port mapper runs across multiple switches and produce reports…

Unfortunately for the current user tracker built into Cirrus, we have a network with more than one switch in it. Because of that, the current Cirrus User Tracker doesn't work. Its horrible and should be removed with an update. It should be removed until someone at Solarwinds actually tests it out. I would love for someone…

aqeel73, If you review the post by "Ender6600 replied on Tue, Dec 8 2009 7:48 AM | 213.147.98.50", you'll see he noted that it was an error on his part not anything software related. In fact, he followed up with "When i inputted all the right information as instructed in the installation guide, everything worked fine." We…

Goofyzig, you rock! I've been trying to get this to work for a while now with our Steelhead in our lab and the last remaining step was knowing the "no cli session paging enable" command. The "##" isn't an issue for Cirrus. I've got this working now thanks to your help. Download device template here: Let me know how this…

That's correct. It's either on or off right now.
-
That's correct. We're planning on adding support for Windows 2008 in a future release. To help us prioritize, we'd be interested to know our customers' deployment timeframes for Windows 2008. Are you just kicking the tires right now? Or is it a 2009 project?

For those having issues with devices showing up as "unknown" or incorrectly identified, we need to add these devices to our SysObjectID database for Cirrus. Our goal is to add these for v4.0 SP1, so please reply to this post with the devices you need recognized. Here's what we need to add your devices: 1) SysObjectID (see…

jswan, you're correct and thanks for posting an alternative approach. I do want to point out that we're working on making this much easier. As noted in this post, we're working on advanced scripting which will enable you to do the following: * add logic to command scripts (e.g. if, then, else) * access NCM inventory data…
-
We have been listening to your feedback and we appreciate that many of you have made use of the script (in lieu of Cirrus availability) and it has become critical to your daily operations. We are planning on addressing the ability to specify TFTP root directory via script in the 9.1 release (this quarter), so please stay…

2) NPM user accounts, complete with restrictions imposed on said NPM users. One workaround since you have NPM is to install the NCM 5.5 integration module on your NPM server. The NCM 5.5 integration module now includes support for all the capabilities previously only available through the standalone NCM website, including…

Actually, we should have the 9.0.4 bits on the portal later today. The release notes typically go on the web coincident with the bits, but we're a little behind right now. Please bare with us and check the portal tomorrow morning.

Found one: Windows Event ID 1074 is a user initiated reboot. Here's the text that the event generates: "The process <process> has initiated the restart of <computer name> for the following reason: No title for this reason could be found. Minor Reason: <reason> Shutdown Type: reboot"

I've checked and an override of the password prompt is not currently possible. Only the username prompt can be overridden. For internal folks, this is being tracked as #4019

We definitely want to get to the bottom of this because clearly it's not an environment-specific issue with 2 of you seeing the same thing. Can you both please open support tickets for this issue? We're going to need to work with you to get the appropriate logs and troubleshoot this further.
-
We believe this banner issue is fixed in 5.0 BETA with our prompt detection enhancements. If you are not already signed up, please send me an email at chris.lapoint@solarwinds.com and reference TT#1330. We plan on sending out the BETA3 build later this week.
-
goofyzig, please see my response to your post on the Steelhead (). The banner issue is experienced by skierjmh is a little different.

This looks like Cirrus may be stopping because it interprets "#" as a login prompt and the end of the line by line transfer. Can you please post a session trace (File > Settings > Advanced > Session Tracing) for this to Thwack and also open a ticket with support?
-
Great, self-service is always best Let us know if there's anything else we can do to help. FYI, one other thing to check out is the external process action. Using that action you can really do anything you want as a result of an alert (e.g., execute script, program, etc.) -- see the Admin Guide for more details.
-
To help us prioritize, can you rank your requests for changing Config Change Report output: E.g. 1. Provide option of NOT reporting "no changes" 2. Send report as a PDF attachment 3. Send report as a MHTML attachement 4. Provide options for sorting (please describe desired options)
-
Can you attach screen shots of what you're seeing? In talking with dev, we're still confused as to why you are seeing 100% in the chart, but then only 2 devices that are not in conflict.
-
We'd like to see syncronization of some sort between the node databases. When 5.5.1 become available later this month, I would suggest upgrading and checking out the Import Orion node Job in NCM that allows scheduled synching/merging of NPM nodes, including custom properties.

For a list of standard tags, please see Admin guide section "Customizing Notifications Using Tokens". But as Matt noted, the XML method described above should get you all possible tag candidates.
