What if you have multiple NCM servers and 1 Orion?

Question

I've run into a problem.  In our environment we have a single Orion web server but 2 NCM servers.  They are seperate because of security reasons however and the node details from Orion are seen on one page.  I only see where you can add the name and web address of 1 NCM server.  Is there any way to add multiple NCM servers in Orion so it can pull the data from different boxes?

PS.  Upgrade on my 2 servers running 4.0 to 5.0 was smooth.

Vic's answer is spot on.  To his second point, we're are already in planning on how we can make a common security and data model a reality for a 2009 release.

From what I understand, each NPM instance can only map to a single NCM server at this time, and the plan is to incorporate NCM into EOC in the relative short-term. Longer term, NCM will most likely have the same "remote collector" architecture as NPM SLX, which should allow customers to consolidate discreet NCM instances into a single instance depending on the requirements of their respective environments.

I also believe we will someday see much more granular access control and a more robust security mechanism in NCM. If they continue to integrate more tightly with NPM and follow the same methodology for creating and controlling views, as well as the access to them, then this should help with some of the obvious concerns of securing the NCM info on the NPM website. Who knows, maybe someday they will share a common database and truly become as one. :)
