Unfortunately, we've closed participation in the beta. We will notify all beta participants once it becomes available. Thanks.

Good feedback. For internal folks, this is being tracked as #2918. If there are others interested, please chime in to help us prioritize.

Windows may reserve disk space that prevents APM from writing to the system (e.g. app/OS swap space), so not having enough disk space could certainly create problems for Windows and applications (not just APM). The problem is if the application can't write to disk, how can it write to the Windows Event Log or Orion Event…

FYI, another customer was able to successfully create a device template for this support and has posted to content sharing zone. This support will come OOTB w/ next release, but in the interim please see the thread below for more details:
-
Thanks for posting! We'll check this out and consider Policy Reporting enhancements based on your suggestions in a future release.
-
Can you elaborate further on exactly what you're seeing? For example, are you saying that you see configs with the NCM application, but you're not seeing them within the resources in Orion for the same nodes?
-
We're getting close to Release Candidate phase. If you're interested in participating, please send me an email and I'll add you to the list.
-
Just sent you an email offline about the release candidate program.
-
Please open a support ticket on this. We'd like to examine this issue further. Thanks,
-
We can't give exact timelines for release. However, if you're an existing customer, I can give you a preview of this functionality. If you're interested, send me a PM with your SWID and your availability for next week.

One of my frustrations with NTA is that it lacks an easy to use interface to quickly get information about arbitrary small-volume flows. I'd like to understand this better. Would the ability to search for a specific conversation (source/endpoint) solve this use-case?
-
What version of NCM are you running? We fixed several issues related to SNMP v3 support in 5.5.2.
-
Ken, I believe you are looking for a report that lists the top endpoints by number of conversation partners within a given time period (regardless of MB transferred). This isn't an out of the box report, but this request makes a lot of sense. I've added a tracking item for dev and we'll look into it. For internal folks,…

Did you previously have Cirrus installed in a directory other than the C: drive? If so, there is an upgrade issue where 5.0 will always install in C: drive regardless of where 4.0 was installed. To resolve this, move your Jobs directory from the 4.0 install location to the new 5.0 location. Let me know how this goes.
-
That is correct. Realtime Change Detection was actually available in v4 (see http://www.solarwinds.com/products/cirrus/network_config_change_management.aspx). With v5, you'll be able to leverage the built-in syslog and snmp trap server.
-
Bill, thanks for the post! Regarding the LSASS.EXE issue, is this customer running APM? If so, they should upgrade to APM 3.5 which should be available in their customer portal today as well.
-
There is a new job called "Import Devices from Orion Database". This allows you to point to an Orion NPM database and setup a scheduled import of devices. This would allow you to add a device to NPM and then on next scheduled import, have this device appear in NCM.
-
That's really good to hear! The intention was for the web-based config download operation to function in a similar manner as it does desktop-based, including config archive settings.
-
If others have requests for Vista x64 support, please chime in. I'm interested to understand your deployment plans. Also, how would you prioritize Vista x64 versus Windows 2003 x64 support?
-
What version of Cirrus are you running?
-
Donald is correct. Alerting is something we plan on working on next (see what we're working on now here). For others watching this thread, any other specific use-cases for NetFlow alerts?
-
Currently, your options are: 1) Delete the unused reports from Policy Reporter 2) Remove the Policy Violations Resource completely from the Home Page using Personalization
-
What versions of NCM are you guys running?
-
In the future, we'll definitely be looking at areas where we could unify access models. However, the first priority is get a Cirrus standalone website in place with its own access rights (as not all our customers own both products) with some Orion integration. So speaking of Orion integration, I've created a separate…

Thanks for the feedback. We definitely want to ensure that everyone is still able to meet their security/compliance requirements with this approach with respect to who can view reports and who can't. My hope is that this simple approach meets the minimum bar. I'm curious though, when you say responsibilities, do you mean…
-
Just to help provide some additional context for your decision....we are coming out with the new Application Performance Monitor (APM) module for Orion in the next couple of weeks that will provide the following capabilities: * Process monitoring (same as existing AM module) * Network service monitoring (e.g. FTP, HTTP,…

Thanks for the feedback guys. We definitely understand where you're coming from and we've taken a LOT of process steps to improve your upgrade experience, product stability, and performance with each version. This started right after the 9.5 release, so hopefully you saw the differences between your 9.5 and 10.0 upgrade…
-
We hear you and we're working on a solution. I think you'll be happy with what we've done with the next release (5.5).
-
When you implement #6 will those alerts then also show up in the Event Log as Alert Triggered and Alerts Reset ? Yes, they should.
-
Thanks for the feedback. We will use the same values you see after the "=" for each varbind in the Trap Details today if that's what you mean by the actual MIB values.
