otatazmann, were you able to get the results you expected based on the instructions provided?
-
Is it okay if I reach out to you via email? I'd like to understand where you're seeing deficiencies and get your feedback on how we can improve. Just FYI, I've attached the report I was able to pull on Cisco cards here in the lab.
-
I wasn't sure if you wanted your name/company posted as the author of that bug so I used the "royal we". We absolutely appreciate your help with #1 helping us figure out what was going on with the unexpected interfaces and #2 getting the bug submitted with Cisco!!

I want to assure everyone on this forum that this is receiving high priority attention and we're doing our best to get to the bottom of this. We're currently diagnosing the issue with the switch port mapper on certain devices. For all those experiencing issues who haven't already created a case with support, please do so…
-
that's great news! thanks for closing the loop ;-)

If you know the config line that enables SSH2 or TACACS+, you can perform a search across all configs in NCM (assuming you've got them all backed up) and it will show you all the devices with configs that match. Alternatively, you could create a Policy Report which looks for those specific config lines and then flags as…

Let me start by saying that (if you haven't guessed it already;-) ESX 4.0 support is our absolute #1 priority for our upcoming release, and as noted on this post, the work is already well underway. We plan on going into a Release Candidate phase for 10.0 so we're talking weeks not months for existing customers on…

Could you open a support ticket on this one? We're going to need a sniffer trace since session tracing doesn't work via SNMP/TFTP transfers. I'd really like to get to the bottom of this one, but we're going to need you to work with support so dev can get engaged.
-
For those experiencing this issue, please raise a support case with a reference to this thread. This will allow us to track this properly and ensure that dev can work on a fix that resolves this permanently. Also, it will allow to prioritize a KB article in the meantime that will include any workarounds.
-
Sorry for the confusion. We're working on fixing this as we speak to properly display version numbers. If you download what is referenced as v5, the bits in the zip will actually be 5.1.
-
Agreed - glad to see the rapid improvement in Cirrus! One thing I can't seem to find however, now that you can run reporting and comparisons via a web console - where can I edit the configuration via the web? Otherwise, it seems an odd option to leave out - it being the core use of Cirrus! We absolutely agree with you.…

Thanks, this is exactly the clarification I needed. For internal folks, this is being tracked as FB#12386. If there are others interested in advanced application definition capabilities as described by smartd, please chime in to help prioritize.

those interested in support for Huawei Netstream should post here
-
Ok, that makes sense.
-
APM comes with quite a few OOTB reports. Have you gone into Report Writer or looked into the Reports list in Orion after installation? You should see the following reports: * Current Status of Applications * Current Status of Monitors * Historical – Applications Availability * Historical – Monitors Availability *…

You might try setting the don't save unless changed option. Or you can try running the download config job and then have a config change report that is scheduled to run afterwards.
-
moyzan, please open a support ticket on this issue so we can investigate this further.

One caution on Windows 2008 as it relates to NCM (as noted in release notes): Windows 2008 Known Issue with Scheduled Jobs By default, Windows 2008 sets scheduled tasks to run only when the user context it is set to run under is logged on and requires Windows credentials for every change. Any job changes made through the…

Sorry for the confusion. Log Forwarder for Windows and Event Forwarder should be supported if you're on active maintenance for either Orion or Kiwi. Having said that, let's try to solve this for you here to avoid any further run around. It appears you're trying to install the old Windows Event Forwarder on Windows 2008.…

I think you're running NCM 5.0 you'll need to upgrade. This was a known issue and fixed in 5.1. 5.1.1 is the latest version.
-
That's correct. Please use this latest version of the template. This works with v7 or v8. We're changing the name to be non-version specific to eliminate any confusion.
-
Jeff, you're right. This was something we didn't close the loop on when allowing CBQoS only interface details views. For internal folks, this is #3391
-
It's possible to use Report Scheduler to schedule the printing of views. It should be possible to use a "print-to-file" driver to create an archive.
-
Can you enable session tracing, run the script, and post the trace?
-
danglebbits and chris, please post a list of commands you would normally type to login to the device and show or copy the running config from your Brocade fabric switch. I'll also need a list of the exact prompts you see at each stage. E.g. 1. Telnet to Brocade switch 2. Login complete ready: 2. Prompted for credentials…

ercornwell is absolutely correct. In fact, the NCM Syslog Server and Trap server are copies of the ones that ship with NPM. The RTCD process (ConfigAutoDownload.exe) can be called from any local Syslog or Trap server.
-
Thanks for chiming in....any others interested in this feature?
-
We're going to need the complete session trace to diagnose. I think you're best bet is to open a ticket on this one and attach your full session trace. If this worked in 3.0, we should absolutely be able to get it to work in 4.0.
-
Sorry for the confusion. See correction. This is fixed in 5.1
