v5 has been released and adds a new website with reporting capabilities. We're working on adding upload, download, and execute script to the website in v5.1 which is coming soon. If you're interested in being part of a web preview demo of 5.1 I'm doing next week, please send me a PM.

Can you upload the session trace again? The file you uploaded previously appears to be corrupted. Opening in notepad or wordpad results in a bunch of special characters.

Is there any way to allow the nodes to be viewed in NPM but not show the link to NCM? Once they used the NCM link, they would be able to see anything they wanted correct? Yes. Go to Admin > Account Manager > Edit Account. Scroll down to "Network Configuration Manager settings". Set default view to "none". That should…

Device command templates can be found in: <install dir>\SolarWinds\Configuration Management\Device Types
-
You can also submit a support ticket and just note it is a feature request.

Thanks Mike for closing the loop with the workaround. As you noted, this is a known issue and at the top of our list to fix as described in our what we're working on post.

We'll have to check the Thwack record books, but I'm afraid this reply will break your streak ;-) Sorry for sending you down a wild goose chase. Unfortunately, this means that the only option is to create 2 backup config jobs. One that targets device types (or vendors or whatever attribute you want to key on) that support…

We're trying to understand what are all the different ways our customers use NCM inventory data to help us with planning for future enhancements. What are your specific use-cases for wanting all this inventory data? If others have comments, please don't hesitate to chime in!

See this post for how to enable session tracing:

You should be okay. The evaluation will revert to free version after it expires.

Moved from NPM forum stevel i am trying to modify the Top 20 Traffic Sources By Domain - Last 24 hrs....this is under the Historical Netflow Reports. what i want to do is see the top users during a specific time period....say from 2:00am to 3:00am. what i can't seem to figure out is what to set in Select Fields....i've got…

That level of customization has not been planned, but it's something we could consider. Just curious, what colors would you prefer for the pie graphs?
-
Ok, please go ahead and open a ticket with support and include a link back to this thread.
-
FYI, if you're willing to dig into SQL to create your report, you can do a SQL query on the Entity_Physical table.
-
Yes, we're looking at this for the next release.
-
Thanks Jon, that helps clarify it for us.

Dave, thanks much for the posts on this one and for opening the support ticket. We have this in dev and are looking into it. For internal folks, this is being tracked as #4259.
-
We haven't seen this issue before. Can you please open a support ticket on this issue and attach diagnostics so dev can look into this further? In the meantime, are you able to re-add the sources and see NetFlow data?
-
Yann, is correct. However, as he noted, we'd be happy to work with you on creating a template. If the Huawei devices provide a CLI and store text-based configs, it is highly likely that we can support them with minimal effort. If you can post the exact series of commands that must be entered (from SSH or Telnet) to login…

That should always work for normal service releases, but this unique in that it wasn't a full build so we couldn't make check for updates work. The fix was just a repacking effort that replaced a .js file causing the Firefox incompatibility issue.

Did the NCM Configuration Wizard run after your installation? If not, try running it from the Start Menu and check all boxes except for startup settings. If this doesn't work, I'd suggest opening a support ticket and getting some help on the upgrade. If you go this route, please include a link to this thread in your ticket.

Right, there is a field called "Allow Orion Import" on each device. If it is set to "no" (which it is by default in 5.5.x), the import process will simply skip over them.
-
No, NetFlow data is only available from within Orion.
-
In addition to creating the tickets, if you have 5.1, can you please do the following: 1) In NCM 5.1 desktop application, go to File > Settings > Realtime Change Detection > Config Change Settings 2) Verify that checkbox for "Limit number of simultaneous RTN download operations" is checked

Good news. We've updated the SCP server to support both v1 and v2. If you'd like to test out the updated version, please send me an email.
-
Just to clarify, nProbe can serve as both collector (using raw packet flow) and as a proxy forwarder (receive flow data and forward). See Proxy option in Using nProbe diagram: http://www.ntop.org/nProbe.html

When I say that I mean SW can do some string checking using regexp, but you can't get it to to do interface level compliance checking (i.e. verify that you have "no ip redirects" configured on each interface). This is definitely on our roadmap.
-
Please contact support so we can track these requests and ensure that you get SP1 as soon as it is released (should be very very soon ;-). We're currently verifying with customers that it fixes their issues and there are no unexpected problems.
-
Yes, this still works with v9.

There should always be logs. Can you navigate to your inventory job (Schedule > Display/Edit Jobs) and then right-click on the Inventory job and select View Selected Job's log, and post the results?
