We license NetFlow based on your Orion license. So, if you have an Orion NPM SLX, you'll need to buy a NetFlow for Orion SLX.

Ok, that helps. Can you go to the device details and ensure that the enable password is set correctly? Try running a Validate Login credentials. Let's say your current Enable Password was "longhorns" and you wanted to change it to "cowboys". Here's what should get sent on the command line: ${EnterConfigMode} set enablepass…

Not exactly. The NTA dev team determined that an average of 5-10% of flows in any environment could encapsulate 95% of total amount of bytes. So, in some cases we are storing only 4% of the flows (and dropping 96%) and others we may be storing more than 4% and dropping less. It really depends on the amount of traffic…

Gary, thanks for the clarification. This definitely helps. This isn't something we can do today, but I'll capture this one as I think your use-case makes a lot of sense. For internal folks, this is being tracked as #FB3954

Right, I'm not suggesting this as a long-term solution. I was just trying to determine if the cause of the issue is really the single line upload or something else related to the configuration.
-
Byrona, when you upgrade to 3.5 (going to RC soon), please retest to make sure this works you. If not, please open a support case.

It appears we're still waiting for some wire captures from you. We'll resend the request.

If you install that TFTP server and have it started when executing command script, you should be good.

We're working on a beta version that includes the following: * Support for Windows XP/2000 * Support for Vista/2008 * Fully extensible filtering of Events * Silent install support using MSI (e.g. for use with Microsoft SMS) If you're interested in participating in the beta, please sign-up here:…

HyperV should not have any impact if ipMonitor supports Windows 2008 as a host OS, but we'll ensure we do some testing in that configuration.

Ah, ok. I'd recommend taking this step-by-step. Based on your session trace, you aren't even getting past the initial login to the device. I'd see if you can get this working first by creating a template and assigning that template directly to your device. What is the Escape character on a Linksys device? If it is "^]",…

This makes a lot of sense. You'll be able to create IP address groups that represent sites in the way you described above. Site to Site traffic would have be based on a particular application. For example, once you've defined your IP address groups, with the enhancements we're working on you'll be able to define an…

Ok, we should be able to create a new device template for the Ironport using telnet to download the config. Please list the exact key commands you type to show the running config (including login steps).
-
Yes, that should work. You'll just need to configure each NPM to point to the NCM server. After installing the NCM 5.5 integration module on your NPM 9.5 servers, it will walk you through the appropriate steps.

Just FYI, we're already exploring the concept of a "remote collector" specifically for these types of scenarios, but there's nothing we can share in the short-term. Please stay tuned for now.

We might be using the "state" field for Cirrus' own internal state machine, so you may have to create a _State or something to that effect to get past this. Let me know if this works for you..
-
Can you go to your Orion NCM server and verify that the Orion NCM Information Service is started (Control Panel > Services)? Also, can you provide the versions of Orion NPM (bottom of website) and NCM (NCM Win32 console > About dialog) you are running?

Hi Karel, I'm sorry your renewal experience has been subpar. We absolutely value loyalty and giving free and frequent product updates to those current on maintenance is part of our commitment to our loyal customers. Can you let me know which SolarWinds Sales Representative you were trying to get in contact with? I'd like…

We believe we've addressed this issue in 5.1. If you're are willing to help test this fix using the 5.1 beta build (on a separate machine from your 5.0 production install), please send me a private message.

You could if want to alert on each FS availability individually, then you'd need 10 APM components. It really depends on how you write your script. For example, you could write a script whose output tells you how many are up and how many are down and have this show up in APM. The problem is when you see the status rollup…

That's the only 'error' message I get (the one shown in the second screenshot) where it begins "This resource is not displaying correctly due to..." But, I've also seen another one "Report loading cancelled." "Press F5 to refresh and try again". _AND_ When I do a Print-Preview it has a RED-X icon indicating a missing…

Now that NTA 3.6 has been released, I'm going to close this thread to further responses. The new "what we're working on" post can be found here

Thanks for the feedback Dave. This feature is actually already available in NTA 3.5 SP1, but just not publicly exposed. We're doing some customer testing right now to ensure it has the expected results. If you're amenable to trying this out, please send me a private message.

Jon is correct. We actually share the same SysObjectID database across Toolset, Orion, and Cirrus. Note, the database is usually updated with each release so there could be differences based on each product's release cycle.

Ok, please open a ticket with support and include a link to this thread. FYI, the error code you're receiving (30017) translates to: Could not obtain terminal pty on remote server. (SSH) It might be useful to also try connection with Telnet to verify that it's not a network connectivity or reachability issue (e.g.…

I love it! In fact, I'm going to put it on our long-term list of things we'll look at in our "what we're working on post". For internal folks, this is being tracked as #3642
-
FYI, this made it into 5.1 ;-) We're finalizing our testing now and will be releasing it soon.

I assume you mean EOC. I'd recommend working with your sales rep to get a quote pulled together, but if you want to see list you can configure this here: http://www.solarwinds.com/onlinequote/

Rancid is still, much faster, much cleaner. Cirrus Configuration change detection, and even job notification is way to fluffy, without the necessary information presented quickly. I can't read the thing, and when I want to check all my routers every hour, the amount of SPAM and random failures to log into my mix of Cisco,…
