I would LOVE to drop RANCID, as it's just another thing out there that I need to support. It's just that it's so stable and the emails are SOOOO much easier to understand. I've been making requests regarding the format of the emails for years, and while I'm sure it's not just a switch you can flick to make it work, I know…

The integration module installer is part of the zip that includes your NCM 5.0 server installer. You'll need to run the NCM integration module installer on your NPM 9.0 server. Once this is complete, you should see a resource on your summary view (Home tab) that will allow you to add the new NCM resources.

Are there commas in the message?

We're in the process of moving this content over to the our SolarWinds core site, but you can find more documentation here on the Event Log Monitor: https://support.ipmonitor.com/helps/8b980326971d4cbc88ec362af0bec04f.aspx

Ok, we appreciate you trying multiple tactics to resolve this issue. It may be a problem with the German Windows version as you say, but it's really difficult to tell without more debugging information. Can you please open a support ticket and include a reference to this post? Thanks,
-
Changing that line does take care of the problem. However the command executed to change the output also change the command prompt. When I manually initiate a download the process sits idle for a periode of time after the prompt changes, but then it does continue. I have included the trace from a manual download. I does…

Absolutely we'd love to see the examples of the reports you mentioned. I'll reach out to you directly to get more details.
-
Unfortunately, this didn't make v10. Have you tried scheduling a web page (custom Orion view) to be emailed as a report using Report Scheduler? I know this isn't PDF, but perhaps this could work in the interim.
-
It sounds like a browser config issue. I just tried it from Firefox and it worked fine.
-
Great. Wrt/ issue #2, it's going to be hard to diagnose without getting logs and trying to reproduce in house. Are you an existing customer of NCM or are you just evaluating it right now?
-
For those interested in this feature, would you prefer HTML or plain text for these email notifications?
-
Yep, that's the right variable and I'm glad this worked for you ;-)
-
What version of NTA are you running? According to our tracking system, this issue was resolved in NTA 3.5.

Installing an eval over production isn't a supported use-case for a variety of reasons. Is it possible to install the eval on a separate machine and redirect your NetFlow exports to that server? If not, we can discuss other options.
-
Ok, I'd suggest opening a support case on this one and include a reference to this thread. It's not something we're going to be able to easily diagnose here.

For your SonicWall devices, you might review the technical reference on Thwack for creating device command templates:
-
It's definitely intended behavior and you're safe to use this feature. In fact, I think I might use your idea for my next Orion Product Blog post I've entered a tracking item to ensure we don't forget to account for this use-case in any future revamp of alerting.
-
Can you give me your Case# so I can see where this issue is at in dev? I thought we had resolved all import issues in 5.5.2.
-
Try restarting your Orion NCM Polling Service and let me know if that fixes the issue.

TFTP'ing the config back from a menu-based interface will work if it is a text-based config. As you pointed out, these Nortel devices send it in binary format which Cirrus rejects. In v5, we are working aorund this limiation by providing the ability to do menu-based direct transfers. If you can enter a command to show the…

It appears that someone has already responded to your case on 6/30, so perhaps it got lost in your inbox. If you'd like, I can ask them to resend. ================= I'm going to give you a list of tasks which *hopefully* will resolve your issue. If they don't, then we'll progress to more...aggressive methods. We weren't…

We are also having a problem with the DDNS issue (v9.5 SP4), and testing shows that the first poll correctly resolves the entered hostname (e.g. myhost.dyndns.org). But after that is complete, the Nodes.DNS field is populated with the reverse lookup (e.g. 123-45-67-89.pool.isp.net), while the Nodes.Caption field remains…

Having netflow variables in other alerts would be awesome too. You read our minds ;-)
-
Ok, this sounds like a bug. Please open a ticket with support for tracking and include a reference to this thread so that they have background of troubleshooting steps we've already tried.
-
No ETA at this point. We'll definitely evaluate as part of our next release.
-
Unfortunately, this would have to be done through SQL right now.
-
For internal folks, this is being tracked as #4660
-
Thanks for that. I think we've diagnosed it as much as we can on Thwack. Please open a ticket with support on this issue so we can try to reproduce in dev.
-
Great! We're still trying to understand why the attribute discovery would work for some devices and not others. Can you confirm that the devices failing had the same SNMP community string (or SNMP enabled)?
-
Right, here are the authentication options for Cirrus: 1) Use local accounts on the server. This will allow you to authenticate to the Windows machine with a domain user account and then use a different local account to authenticate into Cirrus. You would use this configuration if all your users shared the same login to…
