That looks like a bug. Please open a support ticket on this issue.

Try adding the following lines to your template. This should speed up login detection and sending of the EnterCLI command. <Command Name="MenuBased" Value="true"/> <Command Name="VirtualPrompt" Value="Main Menu"/> Then, you'll need to change the Indirect Download command to initiate the appropriate commands to download the…

Your use-case makes perfect sense. This one has already been escalated to dev so we'll look at providing this enhancement in a future release.
-
Great. Once you 've upgraded to 9.5, don't forget to install the latest version of the NCM integration module (this is an additional executable included with your NCM 5.5 download).
-
Okay, I have a theory that the "Ctrl-Y" in the regex field is causing problems because "-" is special character in RegEx. To test this theory, try removing the RegEx and Delay altogether as shown below <Command Name=”Precommand” Value=”${CTRL+Y}”/>

Ok, no problem dayley. Just let me know when you're ready. In the meantime, is the list you provided in priority order? If not, what are the top 5 issues that are causing friction in your rollout?
-
Do you mean the ability to map to a custom property in Orion NPM (e.g. enableNCMimport) to determine if a node is imported into NCM? If so, this is in 5.5.1.

Currently, if you want all traffic TO and FROM a particular server classified as an application you must create TWO application definitions. So the application definition should allow combining at least two source/dest combinations and aggregate them as a single app. Currently, if you want to use non contiguous IPs within…

If this is the case, I'm surprised it hasn't been reported by more customers. Since both of you experienced the same issue, can you help us out by answering the following questions: 1) What version of Cirrus are you upgrading from? 3.5, 3.5.1, 4.0, or 4.0.1 2) What account did you use when you tried to login after upgrade?…

Can you try adding the following line to your Enterasys device template? <Command Name="AllocatePty" Value="False"/>

If you're referring to the ability to specify the "More" prompt so that paging is handled properly, then yes. See the 5.5 admin guide for details on how to change the "More" prompt in the device template.

For those experiencing an error "IP address does not exist in Cirrus database" After setting up Realtime Change Detection, you are seeing the following error in the RTN log file: "IP Address doesn't exist in Cirrus database." If the IP address DOES exist in the Cirrus database, this issue may be because the account Cirrus…

Some questions for you: 1) What are your exact Config Change Report settings? 2) Do you get a different result if you run the Config Change Report manually with the same settings? 3) What is the timing for your jobs? Can you verify that the Config Download job has completed before the Config Change Report runs? 4) Is there…

Can you post your case #?

Are there plans to include an official service pack for either Orion or the NCM module to resolve this problem? I don't like the way Solarwinds chooses to fix the bugs with the hotfix/dropfile procedure, as it's impossible to discover versioning information when you push files around the installation haphazardly and just…

Please open a support ticket on this one and we'll try to reproduce in house. If possible, it would be great if you could attach a sniffer trace so we could see if the SNMP v3 credentials are being sent during inventory or not. Thanks,

I really don't understand the logic behind this feature but I already gave up and accepted this You bring up a great point. There's absolutely no reason not to set this property to true by default. I'll make sure this is fixed in the next release.

I assume these are the Orion Syslog feature requests you are referring to: . I wouldn't nix it quite yet ;-) If you haven't already, would you all mind downloading the Kiwi Syslog Server Eval and checking it out? I'd be really interested in getting your take on whether it meets all your needs and if not, an understanding…

Yes, it's a bug. I've got this on the list and it's high priority to fix.
-
That's correct. Prior to SP1, we collected CBQoS data from all "CBQoS-capable" interfaces in Orion regardless of whether they were added as NetFlow sources or not. This created caused performance issues with a lot of customers because of the amount of data being collected. With SP1, we've changed this to only collect from…

Unfortunately, NCM has some critical auth issues that kill it's functionality for more than feeding some relatively trivial information into Orion's interface. I need the ability to provision users just as I do in Orion or just preferably USE Orion users I already have and assign them all the necessary rights, including…

UPDATE: We’ve been providing the networking community with free network management tools since the company was founded a decade ago. That’s why we’ve decided to discontinue sale of Kiwi Secure Tunnel and make it openly available as a free tool to the SolarWinds and Kiwi user community. As part of our release of Kiwi Secure…

So far only you and ecornwell have brought this up as an issue. So, while we're definitely watching this one closely, the priority isn't high enough to make any immediate changes. We'll have to look at this for the next major version unless more customers chime in on this request. With respect to the implications of…

Sorry for the confusion. This is an error in our message strings (should say downloading) and will be fixed in our upcoming 5.5 release.
-
Please try this template and let me know how it works. You'll need to copy this file to your "Solarwinds\Configuration Management\DeviceTypes" directory I've provided two options in the template: 1. Telnet or SSH config transfer - NCM will telnet to the device and issue the "configshow" command to attempt to download the…
-
There have been quite a few performance improvements since v5.0. The current version is 5.5.1 so I would recommend upgrading. Having said that, moving NCM to its own VM (with appropriate CPU/memory allocated) would certainly also help with performance.

Nothing in the beta for this release. Just to clarify, this is advanced application definition functionality you were looking for: ===from your earlier post=========== I'll give some examples: Exchange: Source or Destination of the Exchange servers, which is a group of 6 specific IP addresses Port: Random High Port Mission…

Yes, this is on the APM module roadmap.

Just FYI, in v4 only menu-driven indirect transfers via (telnet/TFTP or ssh/TFTP) are supported. We are planning on adding support for menu-driven direct transfers in the next release. We'd love to work with you all to ensure this support works for your devices if your amenable once we've got a beta to test against. Can…

One option to consider is to leverage ipMonitor's SOAP interface. This has been around since ipMonitor v7 and has been used by several xSP ipMonitor customres. I've included links to the documentation below: * http://support.ipmonitor.com/search.aspx?q=SOAP&f=devdoc& * http://schemas.ipmonitor.com/ipm70/ipm7config.wsdl
