Check out IP SLA. cisco.com/.../products_configuration_guide_book09186a008043be2d.html

I don't have a way to test, but when you add a new node and it asks for its IP, enter 1.1.1.2:9000. What happens?
-
Is there a reason you can't monitor all the devices in one instance?
-
What do you mean? A PIX's interface can be monitored, just enter the correct information in and make sure the PIX is configured to allow SNMP polling from the host.
-
As soon as the command was entered and a CR, NCM would loose connectivity to the device. You would then need to go in and save the config. A little risky, but doable. As you stated I think creating a second VLAN IP (if possible) would be the safer way to go.

The link no longer works (since migration to Thwack) but maybe you guys have a way of seeing it. My feature request are

Huh? Orion does not do that, Cirrus does.
-
Not cleanly that I know of. What I ended up doing was creating an icon and custom lables which shows the utilization of the port. Hope that helps.
-
Same with me. I saw in another post that you have to contact technical support and they will update your account.
-
What is providing the layer 3 to the VLAN? Make sure you have that in the Router/Server Hostname or IP section.
-
Yes

Make sure all the services are started (especially SQL agent).

#1 Fix clipboard #2 Remove Internet Explorer dependencies (ie MIB Browser). #3 Have the ability to add/remove MIBS ourselves. I hate searching a list of a million MIBs when I need 10-20. #4 Add an SCP server for secure file transfers #5 More SNMPv3 support

Make sure the Distributed Transaction service is started. I had the same error and that was the culprit.
-
I'm having the same problem. I have NPM and NCM on the same server and NPM SNMPv3 works just fine, but doesn't work at all on NCM.

Do you see a mac address in the cam table of that port? Custom ports are not supported in v7, but I heard (and hope) that they will be in v8.

Thanks

Mithrilhall- Would you mind posting your PHP script?

I got it working. 1. Install the "Additional Resource" module from the Additional Componets Orion V7 area. //per Don 2. Change the following in 01-AdvancedNodeDetails.Resource Original: <td class="Property" width="10"> </td> <td class="PropertyHeader">Telnet</td> <td class="Property"> </td> <td class="Property"><a…

Rik- Nice to see another groupstudy person over here. I posted about changing it to ssh, but didn't get much of a reply (just a hack which broke other things). What I ended up doing was modifying SWToolset.MenuOptions and adding another link. You need to have the EE Toolset installed on the workstation though. Most of the…

Can you successfully connect via telnet from SW server to the smtp server on port 25?
-
If there is an OID, I would start searching MIB-II.
-
Use a snippet and upgrade the images via SCP.

It looks like you don't need a TFTP server to update it. You can download the manual which has firmware upgrade instructions at www.dlink-me.com/ftp/modems/ DSL-302T/DSL302T_Manual_2_00.pdf

This is a requirement of SNMP, not Solarwinds. Take a look at Cirrus, it will download your configs (by logging in via the VTY) and SNMP RW is not required.
