  • I had this issue and found that for me, it was related to copying an alert. If I copied an alert, the alert that I created by virtue of the copy was fine and included all the alert actions. However the alert that I copied from, had it's alert actions missing. I've replicated this time and time again... much to my dismay....
  • couple questions: 1) is it possible to define your own template variables such as <Command Name="<myvar>" Value="<myval>", and use these in our templates 2) I've been told that the TFTP commands in the templates are for future use - can you confirm this ? It appears that currently all the config UL/DL is done by just…
  • FYI - there is a fundamental flaw that we found with the installation of this add-on. Your SQL server account must be an SA account, able to create the DB tables. However, the cirrus application should not run day-to-day under an SA account. Here is what we had to do to get it working.. - we created an SQL user account,…
  • another one I came across while updating my alerts: I'd like to see a action or notification template for alerts. for example, I could create an "alert profile" that would define the type of action, it's relavent settings (i.e. email, programs, etc). Then as I create alerts/notifications, I can simply assign an action…
  • My top 5 would be: 1) Service port monitoring - we have the capability to moniter services/apps running on a node, but we can't "poll" a tcp port. Many other competative products do this, and It would be very valuable to many folks. For example, be able to poll a node on tcp port 80 for a response. If no response, we could…
  • quote:Originally posted by bleearg13 2 suggestions: 1. I think it would also help to have a "Are you sure?" to "PEBKAC"-proof the deletion of alerts. I've deleted an important alert at least once in the alert engine that comes with the Orion distributation. I'll say it was because of an overanxious trigger finger :-/ 2.…
  • What about dependencies ? I would be great to have the ability to create device groups, then assign dependencies to the group as a whole - i.e. all switches behind a router at a site are dependant on the router. Then have the option to have alerting set to not alert on the nodes dependant on another node... i.e. if router…
  • quote:Originally posted by jonchill I've created an alert to trigger if a particular devices response time is greater than 100ms and the alert resets when the response time is less than 50ms. What i'm seeing is no corrolation between the trigger and rest, sometimes it will trigger abover 100ms and then again it will…
  • I'm having problems where I can't do a scheduled download of both baseline AND startup configs with anything than 1 at a time. If I try to do more, it bombs out... anyone else have this issue ?
  • bleearg13 - could you elaborate on how your are using this dependency level custom prop ?
  • Here ya go - I've tested with all my "recent" HP switches which all use the same OS commands... this goes for 2600, 2800, and the like... not sure about the older HP switches...I've commented out the RESET command - still not clear on what this does but it causes the login and config d/l process to take a longer…
  • good question - what I've found is this: 1) if you unmanage a node, the historical data will remain in your system. Thus if you ever need to go back and report on it, it's there. However in an unmanaged state, it's not supposed to count against uptime and availability, etc. If you don't need to retain or report on…
