Also, no there will be no problems using IE7 for the web console
-
%IPAdd4 auto-split should be fully supported. I’d suggest you open a support ticket – it’s probably something simple that is missing or incorrect in configuration.
-
Can you elaborate on this please. Why do you want a new trap? Just trying to understand why the forward does not suffice.
-
This is a known bug which I believe should be resolved in the next release
-
When you say groups, I assume you mean the new Dynamic Service Groups? If yes, this is just a limitation currently and oversight on our part and something we plan to enhance and make more robust going forward, but since the list can be a dynamic query, it makes the problem much harder to solve.

If you have ESX 3.5, you can get this in Orion today, just add your ESX server. If you have 4.0, we are enabling that in the version we are working on since we have to go through the API to get the data as it is not exposed via SNMP anymore, specifically the data to make these stacked charts

Did you park you license before you uninstalled and reinstalled on the new server? If no, then call customer service to get your license reset.
-
I believe if you attempt to upgrade to 9.5 with the Wireless Module still installed we block the install. So to answer your question, I believe you have to uninstall the Wireless Module first.

No plans currently at this time. If you want to see this info you will need to use Profiler
-
If you want to move around or make minor adjustments to the position of a label or node you can do it with coordinates
-
Please see this post for more info here
-
It is not currently possible to add a custom property to the map tooltip, I will log that as an enhancement request
-
What version and Service Pack are you on? You can find this in the footer of the web console
-
You know we have another product that does just that Byron :)
-
We gather topology during discovery from Network Sonar jobs. Here is more info you can read on how/what we use to gather this info, see here
-
If you go into Manage Node in the web console, you can do all of these features that were in System Manager there instead.
-
We need more information, please open a support ticket and include diagnostics from the server please
-
We are looking at adding an audit tracking for internal Orion events, like add, edit or delete node, interface etc. More user actions. Service restarts already get logged into the Orion event log
-
I would not use that anymore. As of 10 check out the footer of the web console and we put all the products there and if you go to the Admin page under Modules Details you will see all info on the products

Biggest thing based on your comment above is you don't need to do scripting or need professional services with Patch Manager to create content. We also provide third party application content out of the box and update it ongoing as long as you are on maintenance. See here for more info on this. I would say second is going…

Polling of UnDP values are tied node or interface statistics polling, depending on the UnDP. You cannot currently say on device A I want to poll UnDP 1 every 5 minutes and UnDP2 every 10 mins
-
You will get some logging, but not 100% audit logging. This is an open enhancement request we have.
-
After you moved over, did you re-run the configuration wizard to update where the new DB server was?
-
Good info, thank you for documenting and sharing with the community.
-
I believe we look at sysUptime, could that counter potentially keep being reset or something? Is there a vendor bug on the SNMP side?
-
I will look into, but first off I would recommend moving up to a newer version. Latest shipping is 10.1.2 SP1.

One other thing to check out and consider is we have a product called the Failover Engine, see more here. For things like Windows patches or other non-Orion things, you can fail over back and forth to update the machines to minimize downtime. If you are updating Orion itself, the Failover Engine can help with things like…

Berny, Which product are you referring to here? The Orion iP Address Manager module has a web interface and also has the feature in which if an IP was responding to a scan and is no longer responding, it is marked as "Transient" and is left in that state for a user defined set period of days after which if nothing is still…

Sure, just subscribe to the Solarwinds Announcement forum, we post all new release notifications there and you can get an email.

Are you referring to the column width of the left hand navigation tree? Specifically Description? If so, that is a known issue and is already logged into our system to address in a future release.
