Now with my last post being said, we do have items we wish to do which would enable this type of use case.

I just tested this on my 9.1 SP3 install and this appears to be working. My port was not named, so it was showing in Orion with the generic name (port 4/1.....). I went ahead and named that port on the switch to test and after next poll the name test was picked up as the port name.
