I didn't see a question here, did I miss it?
-
Good feedback, I will log an enhancement
-
One idea I am throwing out there is you could create reports and publish them to the dashboard. There is no summary only rights permission. If you give them rights in Orion, then they have rights to see that element.
-
I can't give time frames, but as you can see in this post here, this is something we are working on here. If you want to be apart of the beta and RC program, please let me know
-
Can you try this - ${IP_Address}
-
Can you provide some more information? If the node is down, the interfaces should show as down as well.
-
No, Orion is .NET based, so we do not use or require JAVA, so upgrade away.
-
So when you add the devices, what happens or does not happen?
-
I have not heard of any other users report something like this, I would open a support ticket so we can look into what it going on
-
Are you running RC3 or an earlier RC? If RC3 then you don't need to upgrade, RC3 was the GA build
-
Best bet is to open a support ticket to investigate. Might be some permissions issues with 2008
-
Where are you trying to do this, in the web console or the win32 app?
-
I believe custom field is going to be the best option for 1.0

We are actively watching the market/customer demand on items like this. We are also very engaged with the Cisco Nexus BU and as of right now everything we need can be accessed via SNMP. However, we have started to leverage XML API's for polling. As an example in NPM 10.0 we are leveraging the VMWare API to pull critical VM…
-
If that info is exposed via SNMP then you can create a UnDP and add that to your dashboard. Do you have APM installed? You reference Application template, but you are in the NPM forum.
-
Are you sure that is a Syslog message and not an SNMP trap as Kiwi can receive both Syslog and SNMP.
-
When did you install SP3?
-
Have you applied the latest SP, which is SP2 to see if the issue resolves out? If not, I recommend opening a support ticket to look into
-
We are getting this from SNMP, so most likely the box is reporting over 100%, but if you want so we can investigate further, please open a support ticket.
-
Also, check this out here as another method to poll now
-
The best bet is just to add it to Orion and see what happens. We do have some known issues with these devices, which we have in our system. If we don't monitor something out of the box, you should be able to use the Universal Device Poller utility in Orion to gather the info you are looking for.
-
All great ideas and I have captured them into our system. I am also the NPM PM, so I have captured that from an NPM stand point as well. #2 we already have some ideas and thoughts on how to make this much easier. I may contact you offline to get some additional feedback on that.
-
I just responded to your other post on this, please view that thread and let me know if that addresses your questions.
-
Are all your services running? Typically this is indicative of a service not running. Worst case, open a support ticket to look into deeper.
-
The following procedure fixes a known issue regarding a memory leak associated with the dllhost.exe process 1.Click Start > Control Panel > Administrative Tools > Component Services to open Component Services. 2. Open Component Services > Computers > My Computer > COM+ Applications. 3. Right-click SolarWinds Orion NPM, and…
-
I moved this over to the alert lab here to see if we can get some pick up from the community on this question, see here
-
Yes, there is for sure products we have that will provide you what you are looking for. Have you looked at the Orion product family? http://www.solarwinds.com/products/orion/ To get you started I would recommend checking out Orion NPM and Orion APM Module. There are online demo's for these products you can look at and if…

Good feedback, I will log this usability enhancement into the system
-
I would recommend posting this question where you downloaded it from so the creator can see it and respond.

menz what version are you on?
