So network sonar discovery must be manually run, it is not on a schedule of any type. What type of alerts/messages are you getting? Once you add them to Orion we start polling them via ICMP and SNMP.
-
Yea, you should be good to go

This is a new feature in NPM 10.1 so you would need to upgrade, but I believe you should be able to do this with Dynamic Service Groups. Check out this blog here for more on it. NPM 10.1 also has the ability to write advanced SQL alerts as well, just like you can do in report writer.

Please refer to this thread

We are looking into this, I will respond back once I have more info

#2 - you mean like this? See here #1 - what you can do as well is create a new view with custom html resources. Then for each resource right click and select view source and copy that source into the custom html dialog by hitting edit on it. This way you can have all of them on one page and can schedule that page to be…

Yes, you need to put the controller in and we will poll that to get the connected thin AP's and clients. Are you not seeing this? What other questions do you have?
-
Not currently, this is an open enhancement request we have currently
-
In the setting/options there are three tabs; Active Directory, Standard & WMI where you can specify to export to a selected or same file. Is the appropriate one set?
-
Within the Universal Device Poller app you can import it into there. Once you open the app, under the File menu you can select Import
-
This is something we have filed in the system and are looking at for the next version to see if we can change.
-
I am sorry to hear you had an issue. Did you use the set power level within the NPM console to make this setting change? I will put in a request to change that to 10/Full Power. Can you telnet/ssh to the device and set the power level back to 10?
-
We are looking at other alternatives. We are working on some mock ups internally, once we get further along I will reach out to you to show them to you and get your input and feedback.
-
Can you tell me about the exact rule. Are there other rules defined in the system, like any default rules?
-
Have you seen the following KB article?
-
Hard to tell what is going on, are there any errors in your Exchange logs? I would recommend a support ticket to look into it deeper.
-
Bryan, check out this article it should assist you on your first question. On the second item, this is something we are looking at, but no firm plans in the short term.
-
Yes we do support running on virtual servers. We typically recommend to run SQL on a physical server though, however, some customer do run on virtual servers ok, they just have tuned it just right. However, I will caveat this with if you are running a larger install just ensure you have your ESX server setup correctly.

We have many customers polling their WLC with Orion with no issues and completely happy with it. A lot of this will depend on your use case. WCS is good at the advanced use cases like heat maps, but they are not super focused on the basic use cases like fault and performance monitoring. Also Orion support other wireless…

If you are still experiencing this behavior, I would recommend opening a support ticket
-
I looked at your support case and it looks like they replied to you earlier today with the following, did it help? Can you go to where you keep your imported icons. There should be a file named thumbs.db and remove that from the folder Im seing a lot of these error System.IO.InvalidDataException: File C:\Documents and…
-
Could be many reasons. How many elements do you have on your poller?
-
Looks like this might be a bug, if so I will enter the appropriate defect. In the meantime, could you use an alert to let you know when a Thin AP goes down?
-
Best bet is just to add one to Orion. If values you desire are not being pulled and are available via SNMP, you can create UnDP's, see here for more info on that
-
Since they do have an IP, which it sounds like they are dynamic, you can add the thin ap's as ICMP Dynamic nodes
-
This is tough to diagnose via the forum, I would recommend opening a support ticket please and reference this thread.
-
What would you put up there? We have an open enhancement request for this, but one concern is people overloading the bar
-
You can, but if you ever run a repair on Orion or need to re-install a service etc. then you would have to run the entire installer again.
-
I spoke with the Toolset Dev lead and currently there is no way to have it automatically shutdown, but we will capture and log that as an enhancement. He did however suggest wrapping it in a vbscript that would call the WOL, then wait for a bit, then “sendKeys” an alt-f4.
