Since you have APM that is just a normal part of the add node flow, I agree, no sense in adding APM monitors. I believe interface into is pulled via SNMP. Can you do a walk of the IF-MIB and see what the results are?
-
I will reach out to you offline so I can better understand why you are looking to replace Orion and what questions can I answer
-
Within the win32 UI, if I understand what you are saying, I believe the answer is no. Now we have added a web console in a newer version and within here you can build filters, which I believe would scratch the itch. Have you installed the evaluation for the latest version and seen this?
-
If this is exposed via SNMP you can create a Universal Device Poller to poll this information and display it on the web console, report and alert on it etc.
-
Yea, if you just export the current list of nodes to csv for example and then create a new discovery profile and select bulk upload or the last option and paste in the current nodes and run the discovery job. Once completed, you don't need to import them since they are already in the system.
-
This is not a supported method today, we are looking at adding an advanced sql options for alerts like we do for reports in a future release
-
Could you please open a support ticket and provide them the logs so we can further investigate?
-
So I am going to throw out a few recommendations for you. * Not sure if you have seen NCM, see here * You could create a report using Report Writer that looks for only Cisco and Used * You could take the Top 10 Subnets by % Used and edit it using the SQL filter functionality to show device usage by subnet

We just added Windows 2008 support with the NPM 9.5 release, so to answer your question, no I would not recommend running an 8.5.1 install on Windows 2008 as it is unsupported

This question was answered here

#1 - I am listening Under the Edit option in the header there are some options around align etc. Are those not doing what you are looking for or expecting? #2 - Can you expand on this one further, what are you seeing and doing? #3 - method today is to export as an image and then us as a background in a new map in Network…

See here regarding the first item, we are working to address this now. I believe on the second we store and forward.
-
Putting two different metrics on the same chart is not possible today, this is an open enhancement request. You would have to today create two different charts on the same page.
-
How is your alert setup? If you just use the generic alert me when node is down then you should be fine. When the parent goes down, are the children showing up in the UI as unreachable?
-
Are these Controllers or Autonomous AP's? What is your Group By set to?
-
Are you an existing customer, if so, please open a support ticket so we can investigate. If not an existing customer, what filter/query are you trying to do?
-
At this time, discovery cannot currently be scheduled, we have an enhancement request in the system for this.
-
Great feedback, #1 will get much much better in the next release. Feel free to reach out to me if you want to see it and I can show you what we are doing. I will circle back with the team regarding #2, but great detail and explanation of the issue
-
I logged this into our system as an enhancement
-
We have many customers that do this today with no problems at all, I believe you already posted this in another post and some users have already responded, no?
-
How many are you trying to do in a single shot? May want to try doing less and see if that makes any difference and then go up and add more to delete job.
-
Just an idea to throw out other customers have done. Not sure how you are setup so this may not apply to you. Deploy our Kiwi Syslog Servers at regional sites and have those devices at that site log to that server. Kiwi can archive off on a pre-set basis automatically and you can set it up to automatically forward all or…

With NPM 10.1 instead of going to each ESX Host we can also gather info by going through vCenter directly. This may help out here in this scenario. Also what are your polling intervals set at for Orion polling those ESX servers?
-
You shouldn't need to build a customer property or anything else. They should only see the traps and syslog for the devices in which they have rights to see
-
Have you looked at any of the reports in the content exchange. They might not give you exactly what you want, but might give you a starting point
-
Miron, Thanks for the feedback overall. On the issues you have seen with the current version, have you opened a support ticket on these items? On the feature enhancements the more granular permissioning we have heard from other users with 9.5 with maps. The other items are interesting ideas and concepts I will think about…

If you go into the Trap Viewer Win32 UI and go to File -> Settings and on the second tab choose displayed columns, if you add over some of the others, do you get what you needed.
-
So you want to change the order of the columns basically right? if so, you cannot do this today, we display them in order as they come back from the MIB
-
Have you applied any patches from MSFT recently on the OS? I would recommend opening a support ticket as well.
-
You cannot currently do this today, this is an open enhancement request. What you can do is the following * Place one or more interfaces from one or more nodes on a single chart * Place one Universal Device Poller from one or more nodes on a single chart
